David Beckham unveils Jesus tattoo

Soccer star David Beckham has a heavenly new tattoo: an image of Jesus on his chest.

Beckham unveiled his three-month-old ink — courtesy of L.A. tattoo artist Mark Mahoney — on his Facebook page Saturday, with a video message explaining the meaning behind his body art.

"It’s Jesus being carried by three cherubs and obviously the cherubs are boys," he says, referring to sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz. "My thought of it is, at some point my boys are going to need to look after me and that’s what they’re doing in the picture.”

But Beckham might want to make room for one more cherub: Wife Victoria Beckham is expecting their fourth child this summer.

Beckham has at least 19 other tattoos, each of them personal. "Most of my tattoos are memories," he says. "There's not one tattoo that I've got on me that doesn't mean something."

Wether one Accepts it or not truth is truth essentially. So wether in connection to news or history Jesus Christ was not only in history but also still at work saving soules presently. He is not only the truth in reality but also the only hope for man Kind in eternity. He could not only be known theoretically but also can be lived and experienced powerfully. Therefore, one should open his heart to Him willingly inorder to know Him for who he really is personally!

I'm not condemning nor am I judging , but if u dont believe the savior thats fine no one can make u beloeve that there are signs its just that people fail to realize them. i am a believer and i dont Insult or be rude or judge anyone who does not believe therefore it is very offensive to hear insults about my savior Jesus . I have a tattoo myself and facial piercing no one will understandwhy he did this but it is shocking and offensive to me and my faith . God bless

The name Jesus inspires more hatred in this world than any other name (even Adolph). What causes hatred? Fear or jealousy. So either you fear the power of Jesus Christ or you are jealous that you don't have a share in his saving grace.... don't worry there is plenty to go around.
    God bless.

    Dear Saftgek;
Consult Roman historian Tacitus. References to Emperor Tiberius, Procurator Pontius Pilate, under whom was crucified Jesus Christ. See Josh McDowell's Evidence book. Josh was atheist and set out to disprove Christianity. The evidence evidently was there.

Wow! It is always amazing how much anger, hatred, and anxiety, the name of Jesus or, in this case, an image of Him causes among people. It says something, that He is real, He is alive today, and that the same hatred which crucified Him 2,000 years ago is still with us today.
I'm not sure why David should desire to have this tattoo on his body, but that is his choice. God has given us all a free will, it is our decision what we do with it.

I would just like to comment that very few historians actually dispute that Jesus Christ lived – they would just dispute his resurrection, miracles, etc... Also there are a number of secular, contemporary (to the Bible that is) references to Jesus Christ. Especially notable is the Jewish Antiques by Flavius Josephus who was a Jewish historian. An intelligent person would not argue that Jesus of Nazareth doesn't exist; he would argue that he wasn't the Christ, the Son of God.

Obviously the reason why this is "news" is due to the fact the he compares himself to Jesus. I think it is interesting how non-believers are spewing such hateful words in the comments left here. Even though they are not the ones who should clearly be offended by the imagery of his tattoo. Don't you think it speaks volumes that Christians are moved by this, but not moved to ugliness? If you truly don't believe that's your decision, but why be so nasty to those who do?? The name Jesus evokes so much emotion and power that you either confess it as the name above all or completely turn from it. So, basically let's just all respect each persons decision and call it a day."he was not seen by all people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen." Acts 10:41

I am going to pray for everyone on this string. For those believers..that you grow in the faith every day as you walk with Him. For those unbelievers..give faith a chance. Those times you feel an emptiness, it's the Spirit wanting to fill that void. Christians are faced with the same obstacles in life as non-believers. The difference is we as believers don't have to face them alone.

Superman has saved way more people than Jesus. And it's not a faulty parallel. Two people with supposedly super-human powers. One walked on water and turned water to wine and the other just helped people in danger and was praised by society. Vote to replace Jesus with Superman in the Bible!! Superman's work wasn't as self-serving as the biblical character's.

My question is whether he expects his little cherubs to carry around his battered body when he gets older, or does he expect them to crucify him. I can not get the picture of Sid from The Ice Age being carried by the worshipping mini-sloths, only to be tossed into a volcano as a human sacrifice. You know that with Becks its all about himself and his style. Since 2003 when he left Manchester United his skills have gone downhill due to age , injury, and declining skill. Now compare that to his former teammate and current United player Ryan Giggs. He is going on 21 years with the team. Unselfish , humble, and never wanting the limelight, Giggs represents the unselfish player. When Giggs first started in 1991, he could have gone down the road of glory and limelight like Beckham did,but around 1994 he stopped the partying and focused on soccer. Guess where Giggs is still at today? At United and now he just signed a 1 year contract. Remember this people Beckham may have the limelight, but Ryan Giggs has and still is a very good player at 37 where his skill rarely has declined. So people when you read a story about David Beckham think of Ryan Giggs who is the exact opposite. Humble, kind, low key like his STILL 17 year teammate Paul Scholes who play for the team and not themselves like Beckham. That is on of themain reasons why manager Sir Alex Ferguson let him go. He was bigger than the team.

Yes Rich like Eurotrash worships the Royals. At least celebrity worship tends to lean toward beautiful people not the ugly inbred mongrels

This is not news and you shouldn't care, so get off the entertainment gossip site and read some real news if you don't like it.

That is just stupid. Charlie Sheen thinks he is Jesus too.

Cool... this is the third piece of "news" I've seen posted here that actually originated on Twitter and or Facebook instead of CNN, an actual news site.

No, he is white trash. Just like everyone else covered in tattoos.

That doesn't apply to black people. Get as many tats as you like, no one is gonna care.

Yeah that's what I got from reading it that he thinks of himself as Jesus. He may not have meant to say it but it came across as such. It's all in bad taste in my opinion tho I see an avalanche of protests coming

Funny that you consider him White Trash, Dweezy. I mean, considering he makes millions more than you do. He may be "white trash", but sounds like you're just a close-minded, racist, conservative, pig.

I was thinking the same thing. He should have gotten a tattoo of himself instead of Jesus. I don't think badly of anyone with tattoos or anything. But, I am just trying to picture how people with tattoos all over their faces and bodies are going to look when they are 70 or 80, you know?
