Jill Scott, Kanye, others to perform at Essence Music Festival

The line up has been announced for the 2011 Essence Music Festival, to be held in New Orleans.

Headliners include Kanye West, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and Trey Songz. Other artists scheduled to appear include Fantasia, Boyz II Men, M.C. Lyte and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

Now in its 17th year, the festival attracted more than 400,000 attendees last year.

"Essence is proud to present our most beloved and rising talent across all R&B categories for our first announcement, " said Michelle Ebanks, president of Essence Communications Inc. "We listen to our audience and the performers in our first roll-out are the musicians they want to see under one roof over the Fourth of July weekend."

    2010 festival was good, i think CHARLIE WILSON should be the closing act for 2011. He was THE ABSOLUTE BEST ACT IN 2010. PLEASE BRING HIM BACK !!!!!!!
