James Franco records a song (Yes, this guy again)We should have seen this one coming. Following CNN's report about James Franco being everywhere, the Oscar nominee/host is now adding "singer" to his already lengthy résumé. Vulture reports that Franco and his performance artist partner Kalup Linzy are working on a CD, and one of their recordings — the funky "I Love You," which appears to be a duet between the men — was played during designer Cynthia Rowley's Fashion Week runway show on Friday. (Listen to the song here.) “I was surprised by the song they picked. I sent in three songs and the song that they chose was, like, the last one that I had sent,” Linzy tells Vulture. “But I liked the way it was put into the mix.”
The duo's CD has no official release date but Linzy says it will be an extension of his performance art with Franco, which includes their recent performance of the song "Chewing Gum" at the Sundance Film Festival and Franco's gig on "General Hospital." Linzy adds that he'll be performing on the night of the Oscars, but remains mum as to whether it will be at the show or at the after-party at Franco's secret new bar. “I was given an address over the summer, but I don’t know if that’s the space they settled on," he says of the bar's hush-hush location. "I’m sure I’ll get an e-mail closer to the time, but right now I don’t know anything about it.” |

Awesome. Kalup Linzy is one of the most important performance artists to emerge since 2000 and has tremendous talent. Kudos to Nick Stillman, who wrote about his work and curated him into some of the first exhbitions where I saw this impressive young man's work.

While I find him very attractive, my comment really has nothing to do with looks. I find his intellect, his determination, his motivation, and his ability to cultivate a variety of things extremely inspirational. I would love to be the female version of him....with his supposed lines and all.
I admire the lad. He explores different arenas, tries so many ventures, is continuously educating himself and creating things. Ahhhh...I can only hope to be like him, have half his energy, and a portion of his success in whatever avenues I travel.
