Julia Roberts to play evil queen in 'Snow White'Julia Roberts can now add "evil queen" to her resume, as the 43-year-old actress has landed a part in Relativity’s upcoming “Snow White” remake. “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,” which puts a “new, edgy and modernized spin on the original classic fairy tale,” according to a Relativity release, is due out in 2012. “Julia was our first and only choice to play the Queen,” producer Ryan Kavanaugh said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “She is an icon, and we know that she will make this role her own in a way that no one else could.” But Roberts isn’t the only evil queen in Hollywood at the moment. “The Brothers Grimm” is one of two “Snow White” productions in the works. “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which could feature Charlize Theron as the villainous royal, is also due out in 2012.

LMAO! Lohan lol...I don't know how the movie is going to be-re-making disney movies is risky it could be good or really bad, and as far a Julia Roberts playing the evil witch- I'd like to see her play a very different role than what she usually does. I really loved Erin Brockavitch(I think thats how you spell it) because she played out the role perfectly and the story was very good especially since it was based on a true story.
Its not that shes a bad actress, just cant see her playing that role...

This movie will suck. Hollywood has done nothing more than make remakes of great films. They are in a mind set that all a movie has to have in it to be a success is special effects. Hollywood is washed up and the era of talented directors, actors and writers is long gone.
I've have been and always will be a Julia Roberts fan. Can't wait to see it!
I used to be a fan of hers years and years ago up through Erin Brockovich, now not so much. To me she doesnt seem to switch it up anymore, she plays everything the same way. The role has to embrace her, not the other way around. To me that doesn't scream good actress. To those who like her, well here's another film for ya, but I won't be watching based on her casting. Perhaps if they have other intereting actors/actresses cast.
My first reaction to this news was what happened to Charlize? So glad they are continuing with that version.
Oh and Hollywood is scared to spend the money on anything original anymore. It's all about the bottom-line, not creativity.

Why are they re-making Snow White? It was fine to begin with. I guess Hollywood's plan to take already great movie, tweek it a bit so it's somewhat original, and the put it out so that people cling to the original movie even more. If that plan is true, The Wizard of Oz and Citizen Kane will be next.
They should have casted a British actor to play the queen
Boy! They missed the bet ..... the perfect choiice would have been Catherine Zeta Jones, always my ideal choice for the "Evil Queen". But then of course, they wouild have a problem casting Snow White becasue there are very few actresses more beautiful than Jones, and it would have been a hard sell getting the mirror to acknowledge the younger star was the more beautful of the two.

Wow some of these comments are really mean and so untrue. It goes without saying she is a fantastic actress, just look at her body of work! She has always seemed to be a kind person as well so I don't understand the mean jabs..unless your 300 lbs sitting on your couch eating bon-bon's whilst typing hateful remarks because you are jealous of her beauty? That is being very small and very petty..I cannot wait to see it, I hope they really put a spin on the story like Tim Burton did on Alice. Julia~ you go girl!

I'm more worried that they're remaking Snow White to begin with. Has hollywood literally run out of ideas? Everything now is a remake, or a reimagining, or a reboot, or a retelling, and they're never, NEVER better than the original.
I completely agree. How can anyone possibly remake this instant classic? Snow White was my favorite Disney movie as a child and this new movie idea makes me want to vomit. You couldn't put together the best cast in the world to make this movie good.
