'Pretty Little Liars': 'Vive la Liars'

This week on “Pretty Little Liars,” it was Aria’s parents who were doing most of the lying.

I understand they’re hesitant to jump back in love with both feet, but don’t lie to your children about it - if for no other reason than because they will follow you to school after hours and spy on you in the library.

After the girls are done watching Ella and Byron make out behind the history section, they find a wad of cash and a handful of cell phones hiding in a nearby vent.

If you hadn’t heard about the show's plans to keep A’s identity under wraps until further notice, you might have thought the man closing in on Aria and Hanna had some answers. No such luck. It was just Caleb, who has been shacking at school to avoid his negligent foster parents.

In exchange for his mechanic services last episode, he convinces Hanna to help him expand his clientele by pointing out the school’s richest students at Emily’s swim meet.

Meanwhile, Spencer volunteers to be Toby’s French tutor in hopes of finding out who could have framed her at the bead boutique. Now that she finally agrees he’s innocent, the two can work together. Well, they could have if Jenna wasn’t so creepy. I wonder how this is going to work now that Spencer is no longer allowed at the Cavanaugh’s house.

Although, it looks like Toby might have a plan. At their last meeting, he handed Spencer a book with a note in it.

In addition to the words, “I found this in Jenna’s room. You may be right,” there is something written in braille. After Googling and consulting with Twitter, it looks like the braille reads “#BAD” or “#214.” Does anyone know which is correct? Or, more importantly, what it could mean?

In other news:

  • Melissa and Ian are pregnant.
  • Emily and Paige make amends in the water. Think there could be a love story brewing here? Poor Maya.
  • A tells Aria that Hanna is the one who gave her mom the ticket to the museum.
  • Hanna and Caleb shared a moment in her house, where he'll be staying until he can get back on his feet. With Sean out of the picture, do you think their new friendship will turn into something more?

The episode ends with a Rosetta Stone-esque French record and real-life Clue game pieces (a rope and a candlestick) sitting on a desk - the translation for “I am” skipping in the background.

What does it all mean?!?

Hanna told Aria that she gave the ticket to her mom, not A.

The #214 that the Braille read in the note toby secretly gave Spencer must represent the hotel room number that Ian and Allison stayed at in North Carolina (The girls thought she was with her grandmother. If you think back earlier in the season, when Ian had his golf clubs outside, and there was a hotel tag hanging off the clubs and the tag had that number on it.
