Keith Olbermann to announce career move Tuesday

Looks like Keith Olbermann has some big news to share.

CNN has confirmed that the former host of MSNBC’s “Countdown” will announce his next move during a press conference call on Tuesday at 11 a.m. ET.

The New York Times is reporting that Olbermann may be headed to Current TV with an equity deal already in place. According to the Times, Current TV will be presenting their new lineup to advertisers on Wednesday.

But Mediabistro is guessing that Olbermann may not announce another traditional TV gig, adding that the email invite says that Olbermann “and his new partners will make an exciting announcement regarding the next chapter in his remarkable career.”

Loving the posts here. It is all right for a nitwit like Beck to be on the airwaves, spouting his rhetoric against, well too many groups to count,But when someone with an opposing opinion is headlined, for whatever reason he is called out? Evidently, unless the word is slanted just one way,right/left,it is wrong? I guess diversity only works when it comes to a box of crayola crayons!

Keith Olberman is not like Glenn Beck. Beck is delusional and a conspiracy-theory nutjob who likes to incite fear and hate among his followers. And he gets paid lots of $$ to do it, so he keeps it up and feeds his braindead fan base the fantasies they want to believe. Keith spent his career debunking the craziness and setting the record straight, telling the truth. It may not have been what the Republicans and CONservatives wanted to hear, but it was the TRUTH. He never conjured up ridiculous conspiracies like Beck does.

OLBERMANN IS TO liberals, as Beck is to conservatives? Okay, that's fair. Olbermann graduated from CORNELL, Beck did finish High School. Beck was an alcoholic, drug addict, Olbermann, well, was not........ Olbermann references facts, Beck makes up stuff as he goes along.....

Good to hear Keith will be back. I do miss him. He was tough but truthful and always honest. I have to admit though, Lawrence O'Donnell who took over Keith's spot, is doing a terrific job exposing the crazy right-wing faction of this country, from its obsession and love of guns to our rabid devotion to the stupidest game on the planet, football. Although, I suppose Keith likes football since he started his career as a sportscaster. But I forgive him, and welcome him back to whatever media outlet he chooses.

Jeez. I was so hoping KO had a non-compete clause, or something, to keep his liberal as* off television for awhile, but no such luck apparently. Like most liberals, his arguments are so weak, my 12 year old daughter could rip him to shreds in a political debate (and my daughter is not real well versed in politics; she simply has common sense, as do most conservatives!). Honestly, put a liberal in a debate against most any conservative, and the liberal will be made to look like a fool. Liberalism TRULY is a mental disorder, and belongs in the DSM-IV (not that liberals would know what that is!).

Wow! Like most people, I am sure there are a handful of things you could comfortably debate. But, taking your comments into consideration, I would seriously doubt there would be much debating. You cannot possibly enter into a valid, provocative debate with such a closed-minded opinion about millions of people you do not even know. I would imagine when you read comments about "close-minded, hate-filled, ignorant, redneck, right-wing nutjobs" it might spark a sense of, " .....hmmmm, they don't even know me".

So, you are right. A debate would be useless – because if she takes after you – it would be impossible as there would be no debate to be had. I more see someone standing with their fingers in their ears saying "lalalalalalobamacarelalalalalanobamalalalalapalinlalalalalala" .

Keith does not suffer conservatives. Since his departure from MSNBC, I barely watch it in primetime anymore. Although I would like to but the pull Keith has is gone
I'll never give up Andrea or Contessa. MSNBC attacts a literate audience and it really shows. Rachel is getting better but Lawrence needs a new shtick. Why have those poeple come on if you know you are just going to berate them. I certainly hope Kieth can get Musto on his new gig for pop culture stuff. That guy was great during the Prejean days

Keith represents a side that you may not agree with but he has an viewpoint worth airing. I am thankful to be living in a country that can express differing sides. Shame on you for labeling a journalistic opinion 'anti-American' just because you don't agree with it – differing opinions is what makes the US so great, too bad you don't see this in lieu of your adolescent style bashing.

I do not watch Glenn or Rush, but I can assure you that neither of them will go away...sadly, ever. So yes, those who do not agree with the neocon side of politics deserve a voice of reason – someone we can relate to. Fact is, Fox news lies. Dont think so – google Fox Lies and see what you get – in a nutshell: In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States. Now that is journalism...(eyes rolling).

His combination of hot airs and big mouth would allow him to hold a large group of tea baggers bags. His true calling is most likely cleaning rusty trombones. Maybe Keith's segment should've just been a picture of Glenn every week.

Worst Person In the World was a brilliant way to highlight those who simply have made a negative impact on our society. It was a platform to also show the hypocracy in our society – relating to both political and general interest topics. Mind you – yes, he provided commentary – but most of the clip used the subjects own video in their own words. You neocons might be interested to know that even Obama ended up on the Worst Person's list! He also included people such as Robert Novak to Scott Peterson to the Ronald McDonald who held up a Wendy’s. Priceless. This segment I will miss....
