Seth Rogen, Barbra Streisand to co-star in road-trip comedy

Barbra Streisand is hitting the road — but she's not embarking on a concert tour, she's just driving cross-country with Seth Rogen in a new comedy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the singing legend, 68, and funnyman Rogen, 28, will play mother and son in the upcoming "My Mother's Curse."

The film's plot centers on an inventor (Rogen) who brings his mother along on a road trip as he attempts to push his latest creation and reunite mom with her lost love.

"My Mother's Curse" is expected to shoot this spring, with a release date set for 2012.

This isn't Streisand's only big-screen project in the works, however. As Marquee previously reported, the "Little Fockers" star has expressed interest in playing Mama Rose in a revamp of the classic musical "Gypsy," and has already met with lyricist Stephen Sondheim and book writer Arthur Laurents about the project. Laurents is hoping Tom Hanks will join Streisand as Rose's love interest Herbie.

According to Laurents, "Barbra loved the idea."

Who gave hollywood the impression that Seth Rogan is funny? He's occasionally in funny movies, but that does not mean he himself is funny. Make the distinction Hollywood.

How is a total non-tallent like seth rogan in the movies. He is100% totally wrong for the Green Lantern. I will not watch that movie or anything else rogan is in. He is an example of how far talent in Hollywood has fallen. Rock bottom.

luckily, he isn't in Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds is in Green lantern, Rogain is in Green Hornet. Same color, different vintage.

You couldn't pay me enough to see ANY of the "Meet the Parents" movies, but I could see Barbara Streisand doing Gypsy. She's better in more musically inclined roles anyway.

i love seeing Barbra on stage, but Seth Rogen really is a lousy actor. He comes on like a wannabe Albert Brooks, but without the charm. I watched Green Hornet this weekend and thought that the movie would have been improved if they cut 3/4 of his useless dialogue and just tried to act and not talk his way through a scene. Let's face it, if this is what passes for good acting in Hollywood these days, then i may abandon it altogether and outsource my viewing. I hear Bollywood is doing good things these days.

Seth Rogen is an fat, ugly actor who most women can't stand looking at on a small TV sceren, let alone a cinema. At least he choose a realistic mother for the foim with Barbara Streissand.

Looking forward to both movies, especially Gypsy. I have seen several remakes and redos of this play/film and they just get better. Good for you Barbara.
