Kristen Stewart to play Snow White?Sure, Kristen Stewart can hold her own against vampires and werewolves, but poison apples? We may soon find out, as rumors swirl that the "Twilight" actress is in talks to star in the upcoming thriller "Snow White and the Huntsman." According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal has screen tested up-and-comers such as Riley Keough ("The Runaways") and Emily Browning ("Sucker Punch") for the lead in the live-action fairy tale, but is keen on having Stewart, 20, play the damsel in distress. Though the studio is trying to woo Stewart, she's been shooting the last "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" film and has not yet committed to the project. Meanwhile, Viggo Mortensen is reportedly in negotiations to play "Snow White's" titular huntsman, who is the focus of the movie and protects Snow White from the evil queen. Charlize Theron is currently the favorite to play that role. Coincidentally, Julia Roberts is also set to play the evil queen in a rival film, "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White." |

Why can't that pretty girl that played the elf princess in Lord of the Rings play Snow White? I think her name is Liv Tyler, she was excellent in that and I can totally see her playing Snow White! Why do they want to cast KS? She doesn't have the beauty, the innocence, the sweetness, the childlikeness, the femininity, or the light that Snow White should have....It's like having Julia Roberts play the evil queen....Can't buy it.

Kristen Stewart is wonderful and brilliant in all her roles and including who she is in real life. She is my favorite actress and I am sick of people hating on her because of one role she was in. And most of you haters are just jealous of her I must admit. But she is humble, and stylish, and just happens to have been in many more roles than Twilight. Okay? Google it if you must. She has like 20 movies out and 15 were before Twilight. So lay off her and let her live her life not having to worry about some haters on a blog slamming her. So immature and tactless I might ad. NOOO!! Not KS. She plays the same character in ALL of her movies, i.e., depressed and in angst. I love Twilight but KS is NOT a good actor. I thought acting involved, well, ACTING!

It will take me a while to respect Kirsten Stewart as an actress after the Twilight movies. Not her fault I'm sure; I mainly blame Stephany Meyer and the movie's director.
But right now Kirsten Stewart needs to get as far away from vampires, love triangles and awkward silences as possible. Since something soft erotic is probably too much to wish for, maybe Snow White is a good choice.

Obviously if she didn't have talent then big time directors wouldn't be seeking after her nor would her pocket book be so big. Quit basing your perception of Kris off a vampire movie where the character is actually quite dull in the novel.

snow white is supposed to be the fairest in all the land, full of grace and beauty. i have nothing against kristen stewart but she is very homely looking and all her characters are the same. shy and awkward. i dont think she can pull off a legendary princess. can she even sing? they need to find an actress who would be a better fit to snow white but can pull off the darker side of this movie. my votes for racheal mcadams.
She might be ok as snow white but personaly i dont think she was ever a very good bella shes a good actress but when u read the books then watch the movie i just think they could of found somebody better to play her
The story stated this film is a thriller so it doesn't sound like a remake of the Disney flick, but a rather dark look at a fairy tale. Don't expect to see Snow dance around the well singing duets with blue jays. Stewart would be good, but Fanning with those old soul eyes would be better.
If Kristin Stewart plays Snow White, I will despise the people who ruined Snow White. The other two options are so much better. Please go with Felicity Jones or Emily Browning. Kristen Stewart is a fail actress, she massacred Twilight and I am not a Kristen hater as all these fangirls claim to those who speak out against Kristen. You guys just have terrible taste and can't recognize talent if it hit you in the face. As someone else said before, she really is bland and awkward. People who enjoy movies don't want to see roles being ruined by weaksauce.

Kristen Stewart has the same monotone voice and expression in every single movie she acts in – no matter the movie. That annoying twitchy pose, and sigh is a part of every character she plays... .. As a big fan of the Twilight novels, watching her play Bella makes me cringe.
I can not even BEGIN to imagine her playing an ever smiling, overflowing with happiness type character. She's as emo as an actress can get, and unless this is some kind of Tim Burton version of Snow White, she is a horrible choice for the role!

ok, I liked Stewart in Runaways, but her portrayal of Bella was AWFUL! I can't get the lip biting out of my head! Terrible. I think she might do okay in another role, but I don't see her as Snow White. I LOVE Emily Browning and she would be PERFECT for Snow White!

Not a good idea. Like Mark Hamil (Starwars) and the kid from Harry Potter (in later times), the're acting careers are almost over. People will be refering to stewart as Bella, not snow white. This can be a major problem for the film company.
If you cast Stewart, you will get Stewart, as Bella, as Snow White...as every other characther she's played...here comes her quivering, looking around and biting her lower lip! You know what I'm talking about!

I agree completely with everyone that is desperately hoping kristin stewart isn't casted as snow white. And for the information of others I have seen her play in several other movies excluding the twilight saga, and she is the same in every single one, horrible. She repeatedly bats her eyelashes with her mouth slighty open with an almost disgusted look on her face with her nose wrinkled, not attractive. Definitely not attractive to sit and watch during a 2hr movie.
LOL...I don't think Twilight has hurt Kristen's acting career one bit (or her pocketbook for that matter). Everyone knows her now and she can pick what she wants to do. So yeah I'm sure she's really upset at these comments!

Mildly excited for Kristen to play this role. I absolutely love her, but I do worry that her "Bella" may seep through when she's playing Snow. She's a wonderful actress when she's given a good script and direction. Hopefully this movie will fix the damage Twilight has undoubtedly caused her acting career.

My problem with this is that by calling it "Snow White and the Huntsman", and given the recent rendition of "Red Riding Hood" (Gary Oldman should've known better), this feels like it's going to be set up as some sort of angsty teen romance with an attrocious age difference.
