'Avatar' sequel release dates revealed

Get ready to journey back to Pandora! Filmmaker James Cameron is working on two follow-ups to the 2009 blockbuster "Avatar," each due on Christmases future.

"I am in the process of writing the next two 'Avatar' films now," Cameron revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "We are planning to shoot them together and post them together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart. Christmas '14 and '15 is the current plan."

"Avatar," which earned more than $2 billion worldwide, tells the story of a paraplegic marine (Sam Worthington) who is sent on a mission to Pandora and finds himself conflicted after bonding with the native Na'vi people.

Cameron says fans of the original "Avatar" can expect to see a few familiar faces in the sequels.

"Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form,” he says.

Why does one blue thing have a shirt on and the others don't?

One is civilized and the others are not. IF you were actually watching the movie instead of screwing around and ignoring the dialogue.

"Marine" should be capitalized. Show a little respect (and 3rd grade writing skills). Many thanks.

Munchie....the whole 'Sigourney Weaver/DNA" thing was done in 'Alien Resurrection'.

But not to worry...her character got hooked into the 'tree of life' before she died.
So just braid your hair into that tree...and she'll be back!

I want some Sigourney Weaver! I hope the humans on Earth have her DNA and cloned her, bringing her back to life. I'm sure they're going to do that with Stephan Lang's character.

While I agree she was an awesome character, the whole cloning story line didn't work with Ripley in Aliens – please don't do it with her in Avatar.

I do see some promising things, considering it is going to be a while until the second one comes out... though I don't think it will compare to the first one, it will still be a solid box office smash.
