Jason Mraz: No wedding till gay marriage is legalDespite getting engaged in December, Jason Mraz has no intention of walking down the aisle with girlfriend Tristan Prettyman anytime soon, reports Us Weekly. "We can't get married until [gay] marriage is legal and equal... I think giving people the right to marry will be a huge movement in civil rights," 33-year-old Mraz said last week at Elton John's Concert to Benefit the American Foundation for Equal Rights. "The wedding would be nice for our family, our friends, our community — our moms especially — and so it puts us in the fight." Despite delaying his "I dos," the "I'm Yours" singer insisted his relationship with Prettyman, 28, is far from over. "We both feel that in our engagement, we have a union that's really special and can't be broken," he said. "It's a sacred bond."

@ susanne he isnt saying they are getting married maybe you should re read this but he just doesnt plan on getting married till there is more equailty so the engagement isnt "hypocritical" and doesnt it start with just one person to try and make a change so why is it so wrong for them to wait
If you aren't getting married, you have no business getting engaged. It's hypocritical! Or did you think that all of the governing bodies within the US would feel sorry for you and your "fiancee" and change the laws right away? LOL This whole thing is hilarious!

I'm not understanding these people who won't get married until gay marriage is legalized. The truth is I really don't think anyone cares. It's not that profound of a statement. So basically, I won't get married because gay people can't. That just doesn't make since to me. I think Brad and Angelina are on the same bandwagon. Guess what? None of you all make that big of a difference, like lawmakers are all of a sudden going to say, "Oh boy we've got a mess on our hands! Brangelina and Jason Mraz won't get married unless we legalized gay marriage. Let's get right on that!" Give me a break!
