Russell Brand may be tuning up for 'Rock of Ages'Add Russell Brand to the list of actors attached to star in the big screen version of the '80s-themed stage musical "Rock of Ages." Deadline.com reports that the Brit comic is being eyed for the role of Lonnie, who runs the club where Sherrie, a small-town girl with dreams of being an actress, falls in love with aspiring rocker Drew. "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin is wanted for the role of club owner Dennis, whose character duets with Lonnie on the REO Speedwagon tune "Can't Fight This Feeling." Rumors have been swirling that both Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise have expressed interest in joining the "Rock of Ages" cast as well. While there have been no updates on the Swift front, Deadline.com reports that Cruise is close to signing a deal to play bad-boy rocker Stacee Jaxx, whose big number is Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." |

I just can't suspend my beliefs enough to pay to watch that couch jumping scientology wackball Tom Cruise. He hasn't made a good movie since He went scientology on the public
That is one ugly MF
Oh come on guys... Tom Cruise is great lip syncing... remember Risky Business??? lol
Use real singers that act: Justin Timberlake as Drew with John Stamos as Jaxx.
John Stamos
If Tom Cruise is signed on to this movie, I won't be seeing it. Hey, how about Bret Michaels as Stacee Jaxx? heh heh.
THIS MOVIE NEEDS JACK BLACK. LONG LIVE THE D
Why don't they sign Ben Stiller instead of Tom Cruise? He would do a better imitation of Tom Cruise as a rocker than Tom Cruise would....he'd be a Focker of a rocker!
Really.....Cruise??? Justin Timberlake to busy?
So who are they going to get to play the band Def Leopard?
If you've seen the musical or get the CD, the first thing is you hear is David Coverdale say, "..In case your ears (stereo in CD version) should burst into flames, please refrain from singing Def Leppard's 'Pyromania,' as we couldn't get the rights to any of their music." So that should answer your question.
