'Pretty Little Liars': Four lobsters in a tank

Of all the bumper stickers on the road, "Humpty Dumpty was pushed" is the one that's supposed to make Hanna forget that A - most likely the person who put her in the hospital - scrawled a creeptastic message on her cast.

But, ABC Family obviously knows what they're doing - "Pretty Little Liars" will return for a second season come summer 2011. In the meantime...

Finally home from the hospital, Hanna finds a large sum of money hidden between sheets of uncooked lasagna noodles while scouting the pantry for a snack. Let this be a lesson: Never hide something beside a delicious treat like Pop Tarts.

When confronted about the money, Hanna's mom admits she borrowed it from a customer and that she has every intention of replacing the cash in due time.

This, of course, prompts a welcome home message from A: "Like mommy like daughter. Can you run from the law on those legs?"

By the way: Something is telling me the stuffed bear Emily was holding for Hanna at the beginning of the episode is important. Anyone else getting a nanny-cam vibe?

Despite the fact that the Spencer-Alex plot line is shaping up to be somewhat relevant, I've decided to ignore their relationship because... well, I find them annoying. That said, it is important to note: Alex has the opportunity to apply for a tennis clinic in Sweden, but he doesn't want to. Spencer told him she thinks it would be a good idea and offers to look for an internship there, as well. But I'll get back to that later.

At school, Mona approaches Spencer and Emily about her idea to throw Hanna a surprise party. The theme? "Welcome home Hanna. We love you with or without your spleen." This coming from the same girl who hosted the "glamping" (glam-camping) party where Hanna was originally injured.

In another corner of the school, Noel, unhappy with his English grade, decides to put his knowledge of Aria and Fitz's illicit relationship to good use. Think Fitz will give in?

Even Jenna, who we're made to believe is blind, seems to know something is up between the two of them. When she walks into Fitz's classroom, she appears to be staring directly at Aria. She even creepily apologizes for interrupting.

Emily's parents agree to have Maya over for dinner, but whether it’s her seafood allergy or the fact that her parents had two children out of wedlock, Emily's mom is not taking a liking to the girl next door. Her close-mindedness is apparent when she sees the girls playing footsie under the table. Dear Emily's mom: That's hardly a reason to have a sob-fest in the pantry.

Toby, meanwhile, is sitting on his porch wearing a Lindsay Lohan-esque ankle bracelet. In other words: He's not going anywhere any time soon. Jenna meets him on the porch and admits to turning him in to the police before leaning in to kiss him. That's one way to get a guy to stick around - have him confined to your house. Too bad Toby's just not that into you, Jenna.

While Jenna was trying to get a little love on the porch, Mona, Noel, Lucas, and a bunch of other possible suspects show up at Hanna's house for her "welcome home" bash.

Then, a flashback: At a previous party at Hanna's house, the girl sitting on Noel's lap receives a text message causing her to get upset and leave. Alison, standing with the girls across the room says she just "put Noel back on the market," adding, "I only kill when we need food, or when I'm bored."

Back in reality, an e-mail confirmation from the tennis clinic makes Alex think Spencer applied for him behind his back. Spencer then receives her own confirmation: "Point, set, match! xo A"

Elsewhere, Aria tells Hanna she's planning to leave the party early, at which point Hanna asks if she's attending a faculty party. Burn!

In other drama... Lucas, having completely ditched the nice guy routine, tells Hanna, "You're just another one of them ... considering what that b**** did to me, I should have done way worse to her."

As far as we know, Lucas was only referring to his destroying her memorial. But you never know...

As the party comes to an end, the girls realize they don't even know what A wants from them anymore. Spencer asks, do you know what happens when you put four lobsters in a tank and cut off their food supply? Answer: They start to eat each other.

Spencer heads home to find her house has been taken over by Ian's stuff. She, for whatever reason, is drawn to his golf clubs, which have a Hilton Head resort tag on them. And… Flashback!

When Alison comes home from allegedly spending time with her grandmother in Georgia, Spencer notices the same tag on her luggage. I wonder if Alison and Ian carved their names in the tree before or after their romantic South Carolina getaway.

When Hanna's mom returns home, she realizes the money she hid is gone. Assuming no one had a sudden craving for uncooked lasagna, there's a chance A has employed a nanny-cam after all.

As Hanna goes to take her pills before bed, she finds a post-it note: "You'll get your $$$ back if you do what I say. Sweet dreams. -A"

What did you think of the episode? Any leads?
