Celebrities react to Arizona shootingThe tragic shooting that killed six people and injured 14 others at a political meet-and-greet in Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday is sending shockwaves throughout Hollywood, as well as the rest of the country. In fact, two celebrities have connections to victims of the gunfire. A rep for Gwyneth Paltrow confirms to CNN that the "Country Strong" star is a distant cousin of the critically wounded Arizona congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords. “Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting congresswoman Giffords, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family as well as the other victims of this horrible act of senseless violence,” Paltrow tells CNN in a statement. "One Tree Hill" actress Sophia Bush tweeted that she is related to Christina Green, the 9-year-old who was killed in the rampage. (Alleged shooter Jared Lee Loughner, 22, is due in court today at 2 p.m. MT/4 p.m. ET, according to prosecutors.) "She was my 2nd cousin... Devastating..." Bush wrote yesterday, later adding, "If you know anyone who is struggling, please reach out to them. No one should feel so alone that they resort to senseless violence..."

The recent tragedy in Arizona has reminded & reinforced in me, one of my life purposes. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when I was 19 (35 Now), and spent 6 stays in the psychiatric ward in my twenties... I was committed against my will every time. I have unique insight into the mental health experience and my gift is my ability to express, articulate and describe the experience from multiple perspectives. I believe my personal experience combined with my ability to analyze and communicate the experience is special and more importantly, valuable. I'd like to start a consulting firm/education foundation that provides training and education to schools, colleges, law enforcement agencies, etc- I don't have any business experience so I'm hoping everyone out there might lend some advice, thoughts, ideas or connections to help me make this happen. I have a lot more to say on these matters, but I want to keep this relatively short. Sarah Palin appeals to only the mentaly unstable. What's the news there? This young murderer should have been isolated from society and instead could purchase an automatic weapon in Arizona. Good old Arizona, state of the weird and home of the scarey.
I think people should be able to say what they want, as long as they back up their words and defend them. Now, after this tradgedy, Palen (her reload talk, the targets covering the map) is now backpeddling, stuttering about on how she hates violence. Too bad for all those animals she's changing her tune now. I hope this seriously damages this "talk show hosts" poliitical life. She has no business running anything in this country.

I will never understand people that kill others to get attention. They never change anything, all they do is make the country come together.
I can't imagine how the families cope with their loss...their loved ones being killed in the crossfire of a lunatic who's mission was Giffords, and all those peopled died for no reason at all. I also find it ironic because the 9year old was born on the tragic day, sept 11, 2001 and was killed also on a tragic day.
