James Franco refers to himself in third personIs James Franco having identity issues? As Marquee previously reported, the heterosexual actor teased that one of the reasons he's portrayed so many homosexual characters on screen is because "maybe I'm just gay." Now come reports that 32-year-old Franco referred to himself in the third person on the set of "127 Hours." "While we were shooting the film, he would sometimes ask me, 'What do you want him to do?'" director Danny Boyle tells the Telegraph. "I would say, 'What do you mean?' He would say, 'What do you want from him in this scene?' 'You mean your character?' 'No, no. Franco. What do you want from Franco?'"
Boyle says he suddenly realized that the Golden Globe-nominated actor was referring to himself in the third person. "I said, 'Well, I think he should be more emotional.' And he said, 'Oh, I can get him to do that.'" Strange as it may sound, it worked, says Boyle. "He'd do the scene and he'd be amazing. He turned on this extraordinary performance," he says. "He really does hold himself like a tool, to be used by the director for the benefit of the story." |

i wish you where gay
It's kinda weird, but cool at the same time.
kudos to you remy.......who cares how he refers to himself....he is a hot actor and he has TALENT....thank you hollywood we dont always get those two assests together to make a movie star...they usually get the HOT right,...but always lacking in talent
When i read this & then watched DATELINE which dealt with Haiti & Ms Gifford & the other unfortunate wounded & dead in Arizona; i wondered why we waste time with senseless issues like this one!
To avoid ' senseless issues' , just a suggestion then to perhaps not click on the entertainment tab on the main page
Lame headline/links that mislead–it wasn't out of arrogance, it was his acting technique.
Personal strange ..
My mom does that with my kids. She says, "Grandma is sorry she can't stay for your birthday," or something like that. I always find it strange.
Um, split personality? He's eccentric, that's for sure.
He was great on GH, can't wait to see him back this Spring.
"He really does hold himself like a tool, to be used by the director for the benefit of the story."
I wouldn't mind holding his tool.
Heh, whatever. As long as he can act.
