Paul Rudd is silencing those rumors that he'll voice a character in the upcoming Muppet movie.
According to recent reports, Rudd was set to join Kermit, Miss Piggy and a host of celebrities including Emily Blunt, Ricky Gervais, Jack Black, Zach Galifiniakis and Jean-Claude Van Damme, in "The Muppets" - currently shooting in Los Angeles.
The "How Do You Know" star was said to be voicing the role of Walter, an iPhone-loving Muppet who is roommates with Gary, a human character played by "How I Met Your Mother" star and "Muppets" co-writer Jason Segel.
But 41-year-old Rudd tells MTV News he won't, in fact, be part of the puppet show. "I wish that I was. It's all rumor," he reveals. "I wanted to be in it, and I talked to Jason, but I think there was some things that happened and I don't know if I'm gonna get to do it."
The actor jokes that he may still get a second shot if there's a sequel.
"I'm hoping for the 'Muppet Movie 2.' I'm playing Charles Grodin in 'Muppet 2: Electric Waterloo?' Beaker-loo?" he joked, before offering "'Muppet Movie 2: The Muppets Are Still Taking Manhattan.'"
"The Muppets," which centers on Gary and Walter attempting to stop the demolition of the Muppet Theater by reuniting Kermit and the gang for a big song-and-dance show, is set to open Christmas 2011.
