Forget the Green Goblin – looks like Spider-Man's biggest enemy is Conan O'Brien.
On his late-night talk show last week, O'Brien offered up a "preview" of the trouble-plagued "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" Broadway musical featuring actors in low-budget costumes belting out songs with cheesy lyrics.
Though the audience found the skit hilarious, the "Conan" parody hit a sour note with the "Turn Off the Dark" team. The New York Post reports that the sensitive Spidey production sent O'Brien a large floral bouquet with a message that read, "We hope you enjoy the flowers. It was cheaper than a cease-and-desist."
But according to New York magazine's Vulture, the gesture was all in fun.
A rep for the musical tells Vulture it was all in good fun: "The flowers were absolutely sent with affection. They were expensive flowers!"
