Bristol: I wasn't forced to danceBristol Palin isn't sidestepping the issue of whether her mom forced her to do "Dancing With the Stars," as claimed by former competitor Margaret Cho. In a December 4 message on her Facebook page, Sarah Palin's 20-year-old daughter writes, "I was somewhat taken aback to read about me in a blog by my friend and fellow contestant, Margaret Cho. In a post she called 'Pistol Whipped' she wrote that 'the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly ... for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she 'owed' it to her to do DWTS." Not so, says Bristol. "I will give my friend credit for creativity, and extra points for getting so many 'facts' wrong in so few sentences," says Bristol. "Let me be blunt: my mom did not 'force' me to go on 'DWTS.' She did not ask me either. The show approached me. I thought about it. I made the decision." Bristol, who made headlines in 2008 for being a teen mom, says she just wanted to make her folks proud. "Loving my parents had everything to do with it," she says of her reason for joining the dance competition. As for why she decided to set the record straight, Bristol explains, "For 20 years my mom had my back - and for the rest of my life I will have hers." The abstinence advocate ends her missive with a personal message to Cho. "Don't ever rely on 'sources' who claim to know me or my family. You will be taken every time," she says, adding, "And we need to talk. You say you 'don't agree with the family's politics at all' but I say, if you understood that commonsense conservative values supports the right of individuals like you, like all of us, to live our lives with less government interference and more independence, you would embrace us faster than KD Lang at an Indigo Girls concert."

Here's a little speculation for everyone before i head home;
There is a cruise company that does Alaska cruises that caters to the G&L crowd.
Their list of past entertainers includes K.D. Lang and the Indigo Girls.
I lost interest when i started trying to find out who the booked entertainers were on specific dates, but I was seeing 2007 and 2008 in my google results.
Put that together with a Governor for a mom and a Christian upbringing AND a love of country music and you can find a whole host of reasons as to why a 19 year old girl would make the reference.

I defended Bristol's right to be on Dancing With the Stars, even though I was very upset about tea baggers voting for her when she showed little talent. My defense was that she was not her mother, and that the show might give her the opportunity to break free from the controlling Mama Grizzly.
But, alas, Bristol is now just buying into and being used by her mother's machine. Every publicized word out of her mouth is just a remake of her mother's hate-filled, "I am the victim" philosophy. And now there are two . . . .

You will see in just about every bio out there that she's said to be a Country Music buff. Given that the Country Music Genre is about 1/3 the size of pop/mainstream music you can easily come to the conclusion that yes, she may actually know who KD Lang is.

Here is a Christmas wish.......Dear God, please make ALL the Palins go away. They are dumb, divisive and extremely repulsive. I encourage people to unpack the statements on Bristol's FB page regardless of the authenticity of the author. The "conservative Values" she touts seem ridiculous coming from someone who's shot to fame is getting knocked up at 17 because she couldn't keep her legs closed for someone who wanted to sleep with her in the first place because her mommy miraculously became the governor of an entire state. Her entire BS about limited spending should be analyzed against her mommy's record of going on shopping sprees on the RNC's dime. People were intrigued. "How could a republican's daughter get pregnant out of wedlock?"
As people began asking questions the media decided they would fish out the answers... for you.
In asking the questions they find that the answers aren't all what they had expected. This makes people ask more questions and make more comments to which the news media decides you need answers.
Before you know it she's taking the lead and signs up to do a couple of PSA's. Did people ignore them? No.
They talked about them... blogged about them.... posted on facebook about them.

But Palin was thrust into the public eye, her daughter was a relatively cute girl in the background and people talked about her. I heard the dirty old men at work mention her more than once well before the election.

What I do not understand is how a nobody became a celebrity. Her only claim to fame is having a child out of wedlock and having a Mom who ran on a family values platform. Do you realize that everyone who is on DWTS get $200,000 whether they win or not. I've never known a true leader who quit at anything yet her Mom quit her job with 18 months to go and people still think she is a viable candidate?! When Kouric asked her to name an Amendment that had significance to her she gave a rambling unintelligible answer. Even her own handlers were in shock of her ignorance. Sarah goes around making saying how she is doing it for the people and her country but in fact it is for the $100000 she makes per speech. What makes the Palins even more Pathetic is that while she ran around the Country claiming the "Moral High Ground" and preaching abstinence, she was in fact abandoning her kids for CASH. I didn't even bring up her son and his friends slashing the tires on those 80 or so school busses and causing $30,000 in damage.

As a parent and someone who has done it all, I do in fact know everything my kids do.......it's called parenting. Some of us take it seriously, the Palins obviously do not. My career (home builder) comes after my kids in my priorities, Palin loves her money more than her kids. I could easily add 50% to my income by building more houses, but instead I choose to do homework and go to football and dance classes with my kids.
The Palins are White Trash personified and only those who excuse their horrible parenting don't care.

However, constantly earning the lowest ranks show after show and still floating to the end DOES suggest the show sold out to the Palins, a contract was signed to keep her on as long as possible for a decent sum and in return the show gets ratings because people tune in to see if she will make it or fail.
The show's a disaster. Which is fitting as the Palins are the biggest disaster to hit America since Pearl Harbor.

FYI, there was a massive military drawsown in teh 90's under Clinton, so there should have been massive amounts recouped from making the military half the size it was under Regan. This current situation has much more to do with liberals forcing banks to give loans to low income people who really couldn't afford them, and then when the balloon payments hit, they were left out on the street and banks were left with houses they couldn't sell. Oh, and the botched cleanup of the Gulf, keeping loads of people out of work in the South. And the loss of jobs to developing countries because unions have made it too expensive to do manufacturing here.
But all of this is not relevant to the subject. Cho made an unsubstantiated accusation in a cowardly way so she could make some lame political statment. If I were Cho's mother, I'd be ashamed of her for being this childish and bitter about a dance show.

If the family didn't want the world to comment on them then they shouldn't have put them out there in the first place... Same as the fact Bristol lasted to the end when she was one of the worst from the start... I cant believe you some of you are agreeing with that comment, like the GOP are really for less government and independence. They are for less tax funded unbiased regulatory agencies that keep them (government) and big business honest. They want freedom from law to do as they wish economically. Well Sarah will probably pimp out the entire family at some point. Bristol a teen activist is so laughable so far no one in that home works but Sarah selling herself anyway possible I guess street corners are out for now but I wouldn't rule it out.
