Michael Jackson autopsy special halted

After public outcry and a fan petition, the Discovery Network has decided to indefinitely postpone a planned documentary on singer Michael Jackson's autopsy.

A statement released by Discovery Networks International said: "Given the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week, and at the request of Michael Jackson's estate, the scheduled broadcast of the medical documentary related to Michael Jackson's official autopsy has been postponed indefinitely."

"Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson," was set to air in the U.K. on January 13. Discovery earlier confirmed to CNN that there were no plans to air the special – which would have featured re-nactment of the autopsy of the musical legend – in the U.S.

More drama at 'Spider-Man' musical

The behind-the-scenes drama at the "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" musical continues to hold more twists and turns than the actual plot of the Broadway show.

Rick Miramontez, a spokesman for the $65 million production, confirms to CNN that actress Natalie Mendoza, who played villainous Arachne, has officially dropped out after suffering a concussion during a performance last month. Her replacement will be announced next week.

"It has been a difficult decision to make, but I regret that I am unable to continue on 'Spider-Man' as I recover from my injury," Mendoza said in a statement. "I wish Julie [Taymor, the director] and the cast and crew every success with this production.”

Russell Brand posts bare-face photo of Katy Perry

Katy Perry probably wasn't laughing after funnyman hubby Russell Brand posted a makeup-free photo of her on Twitter. Shortly after it went up, the picture was taken down.

The close-up shot, which can be seen on the Daily Mail's website, features a bare-faced Perry looking like she has just woken up. While the colorful 26-year-old singer may not be wearing any makeup, she is sporting quite a look of surprise.

Though Perry has said that 35-year-old Brit Brand "makes me laugh like no one else," it's obvious she didn't find the humor in his sharing the less-than-flattering photo with his 1.6 million followers and demanded it be yanked.

The newlyweds, who exchanged vows in India in October, are currently in London for the holidays. Perry kicks off the European leg of her California Dreams tour in February.

Is that a new Justin Timberlake single?

It seems "The Social Network" star Justin Timberlake has changed his tune about taking a break from the music biz: A new song, reportedly by the chart topper, was leaked online yesterday.

"Take You Down" features what sounds like Timberlake crooning the lyrics, "I've seen my magic/ What's your looks and your religion?/ And I want you to understand that I can make you feel better/ So it's me and you, my place, sexiness all day/ I'mma do whatever you like, if you cater to me all night, girl."

The song is said to have been produced by the Neptunes, and reports vary as to whether the song is a demo that 29-year-old Timberlake recorded for someone else and/or whether the singer is Timberlake at all.

Lots to do and see on New Year's Eve

Remember when the only choices were Dick Clark or going out?

These days there are lots of options to choose from to ring in the new year. If you aren't fortunate enough to be able to be able to party with the celebs this year, we have a few thoughts on what you can watch as you  count down to 2011.

Of course we would be remiss if we didn't kick off the list with CNN's own Anderson Cooper who will be bidding 2010 a fond farewell along with Kathy Griffin as the pair host the network's  New Year's Eve coverage live from Times Square. That kicks off at 8 p.m. EST.

Cee Lo making music with Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow did such a great job with her "Glee" version of Cee Lo Green's song "F- You" that he wants to make a record with her.

"We're actually working on something," the 36-year-old singer reveals to E! Online. "We've been considering a few things actually. You know, we'll see what pans out. It's a little too early to commit to a statement and I won't ruin the surprise because whatever we're going to do is going to be extra cool."

Cee Lo adds that he would also be open to making an appearance on "Glee," but unlike with Paltrow - who sang the more TV-friendly "Forget You" during her November stint on the hit Fox series - he wouldn't want them to clean up his act.

"I curse like a sailor," he says. "They gotta keep it real with me. If they're ready to go there and get down and dirty, then we got ourselves a deal!"
