Jason Lee: I'm happy to make an a** of myselfBelieve it or not, that is Jason Lee under that wig and all that makeup on Tuesday night's episode of "Raising Hope." Lee guest stars on the new hit show as washed-up '80s hair band singer, Smokey Floyd. This episode marks the return of Lee to half-hour comedy after "My Name is Earl" ended its run after four seasons. "It was nice [after his current TNT series, "Memphis Beat"] to put on a wig and makeup, and just act kind of a mess," he told reporters in a conference call. "A lot of the crew from 'Raising Hope' came from 'Earl.' It was nice to reunite with [creator] Greg Garcia, and just goof off and have fun. It was kind of like going back to camp, and having fun for a few days."

'Inferno' director calls re-casting 'a great decision'As Lindsay Lohan attempts to keep her name out of the headlines, "Inferno" director Matthew Wilder is still chatting about the actress, admitting he's relieved the troubled star is no longer starring in his biopic of porn star Linda Lovelace. “I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation,” Wilder tells Radar Online. “We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well." Earlier this month, "Inferno" producer Chris Hanley announced that after many costly delays, "Watchmen" star Malin Akerman would replace 24-year-old Lohan, who is undergoing rehabilitation at the Betty Ford Center through January.

Fran Drescher teams with ex for TV Land sitcomFor Fran Drescher, divorce is, in fact, a laughing matter. That explains why she's turning her split from ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson into a TV Land sitcom. "Happily Divorced," a biographical comedy co-written and executive produced by Drescher and Jacobson, both 53, will tell the story of a woman who re-enters the dating world after learning that her former husband is gay, reports Deadline.com. It is not known whether Drescher will also star in the new series, which focuses on how the divorcee juggles the old and new man in her life. As Marquee previously reported, high school sweethearts Drescher and Jacobson – who co-created "The Nanny" – ended their 21-year marriage in 1999, and Jacobson came out to his ex-wife after they parted ways.

Susan Boyle hits a rough note on 'The View'Susan Boyle got a little choked up during a rendition of “O Holy Night” on “The View” Tuesday, but sadly, the "Britain's Got Talent" sensation didn’t recover. It’s a moment that was seen by East coasters who were tuned in to the daytime program, and (by now) peeps with Internet access, as the video’s been making its rounds on the Web. It all started out well enough, with Sherri Shepherd introducing the chart-topper, who was there to promote her new album, "The Gift."

Gaga: My music is deeper than a meat dressLady Gaga has been promoting her new album “Born This Way” throughout her Monster Ball tour, but during a performance Friday night in Poland, the star took the hype to a whole new level. “I promise to give you the greatest album of this decade, just for you," the tearful artist told concert attendees. Gaga announced the album title after accepting the Video of the Year Award for “Bad Romance" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, and she says the album may contain 20 new songs. "It used to be kind of a faux pas to put out too much music on your album, but I feel like you guys deserve all of the records I do, 'cause I work hard on them," the singer said.

Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman open up on love and recoveryOn "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Monday, Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman opened up to the daytime talk show host about their love for each other and Urban’s past struggles with substance abuse. Country star Urban told Winfrey he was addicted to “everything,” from alcohol to cocaine, when Kidman staged a small intervention with a few close friends and family members several months after the couple married in 2006. “You can’t [get clean] for somebody. I couldn’t do this just for her, but to see love in action, to that degree, in that time, in that way, I’d never experienced anything like that,” Urban said. |
