Neil Patrick Harris on his kids: I've never been happier

Neil Patrick Harris has a lot to be thankful for this holiday, particularly his children.

"I've never been happier," Harris said of twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace during an appearance on "The Talk" on Monday.

The "How I Met Your Mother" star, whose kids with partner David Burtka were born via a surrogate six weeks ago, said that Gideon and Harper both have different personalities. Their son is "a great burper" and "sleeps all the time," while their daughter is a bit "fussier."

But Harris, 37, revealed that Harper's problems actually stemmed from a gastrointestinal problem. "It feels awful," he said. "All you want as a parent is to make sure they're OK and that they're comfortable."

After the couple tried a hypoallergenic formula and consulted an osteopath, the little girl's health turned around.

"It was fantastic," said Harris. "[Harper] sort of snapped and was a different person. Super calm. Everything is much better."

It is none of mine or any of our business.........but I see two parents that have a loving relationship that are providing a great environment for two babies to be raised. All I can say is great job and may your family have a great holiday season 🙂

It's their right but I believe that deliberately bringing children into the world without a mother is an incredibly cruel and selfish act.

Because moms are so important? Like Susan smith or that one in Texas who drowned her kids?

Eb...sorry, my bad. You're right. All moms are EXACTLY like Susan Smith or that other one who's name eludes you. By your logic, fathers are of no importance either and babies should be shown the door as soon as they are born.

While i understand the urge for a gay couple to have children with their dna i wish they would adopt... so many kids that need a good home here in not progay or antigay im indifferent because it doesnt effect my life in either a pos or neg fashion.... because i dont allow outword things to dictate who iam and if all these haters (and rabid pros) would get that we'd all be better off....

those children are blessed to have parents who love them. Unfortunately, many children from conventional parents are not so lucky.

Well you're just an idiot. By your rationale any couple who cannot conceive naturally should not parent? No hetero adoptions? No in-vitro? No fertility clinics? Why don't you try opening your mind before you open your mouth.

      Name calling...nice.
Shows how much hate is ingrained into the far left.
On the bright side though, the kids were not aborted. Something to be said for that I guess.

The day that two guys (or women) can conceive without help is the day that gays should be parents.

Gay parents can be just as good or as bad as hetero parents. Where is God when straight parents abuse, molest, and murder their kids?
