Kim K. talks Turkey Day, live from the Charmin RestroomsMy Facebook status Tuesday was the honest truth: I spent the morning in a bathroom with Kim Kardashian and she said she liked my shirt! I felt like Rudolph in the scene from the classic 1964 TV special where Clarice tells him he’s cute and he frolics off, chanting, “She said I’m cuuuuuute!" but it was more like, “She said she liked my shiiiiiiiirt!” As for the bathroom part, Kardashian was in New York City serving as the celebrity ambassador for Charmin Restrooms. (A CNN iReporter snapped a few photos of Kardashian hanging out with the Charmin bears.) The Charmin Restrooms are a swanky bank of ultra-deluxe, free public bathrooms located smack in the middle of Times Square.
Charmin welcomed Kardashian to Manhattan with a key to the Charmin Restrooms for the 2010 holiday shopping season in honor of her new DASH store opening up in Soho, and she spent a few moments chatting with CNN. CNN: You're new to the city; what have you done so far? What's your favorite part about living here? Kardashian: Well, my sister and I wanted to do everything! We went to see the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, rode the subways… we just tried to do everything that we’d never done in New York. We’ve been in New York for a couple months, [but] we're back now in L.A. I missed it so I went home, but [then] I missed New York so I came back. So now I’m completely bi-coastal...I love both cities. There’s just this energy about New York that fits with my workaholic personality. I feel very productive when I’m here. CNN: What can you tell us about your new book, "Kardashian Konfidential"? Kardashian: I think it gives a great description of what my sisters and I were like growing up, who we were, how we got to the place where we’re at [now], and why we enjoy living this hectic life. It also has fashion tips, beauty tips and relationship advice. It’s a fun story that my sisters and I tell together. CNN: What are your Thanksgiving plans? Kardashian: I am going to spend it back in L.A. with the entire family: Khloe, Lamar [Odom, Khloe’s husband], Kourtney, Scott [Kourtney’s boyfriend], Mason [Kourtney and Scott’s 11-month-old son], and my brother [Robert]. We’re all just going to get together and cook, and eat, and just spend some time together. The conversation then turned to Charmin Restrooms, and we bonded over a shared pet peeve: People who don’t keep hand soap pump dispensers in their guest bathrooms and instead keep around communal bar soap. We totally OCD’d out over the way shared bar soap almost appears fossilized, cracked and dirty. Dirty soap: An oxymoron if there ever was one. But I digress… So if you’re checking “Elf” on Broadway, shopping at the Disney Store Times Square, ice skating in Bryant Park, or any other holiday activities, check out the Charmin Restrooms on 42nd Street. (I mean, with four types of toilet paper, how could you go wrong?)
