Jason Mraz wants money back for Jo Bro songThings aren’t looking so hot for boy band sensation the Jonas Brothers. First Demi Lovato quits their tour, then the Disney Channel cancels their show "Jonas LA," and now musician Jason Mraz claims they ripped off one of his songs. Skeptics and hardcore Jo Bros fans might be thinking that this just can’t be true, but take a listen before you decide. The Jonas Brothers' new single "Introducing Me" does sound surprisingly similar to Mraz’s hit, "I’m Yours." However, Mraz says he’s not planning on suing them. All he wants, he jokingly added, is his $1.29 back for downloading the band’s new single on iTunes. |

The Jonas Brothers did not write it so if he has a problem he needs to talk to the person that wrote the song. I like Introducing Me way better then I'm Yours.
Here are song samples side by side (and other soundalikes!) http://www.thatsongsoundslike.com/2010/12/01/jason-mraz-vs-jonas-brothers/
@ Jaimes
jason mraz doesn't like the drama either. he simply tweeted about a conversation he had with a friend and things blew up from there. he never planned to sue. the comment about suing was a joke in which he said, if anything, he'd sue for his $1.29 back that he spent on itunes.
Jason has apologized several times. Not only did he apologize for offending Jonas Brothers fans, he apologized for speaking unkindly about the brothers themselves.
Did AJ Hammer, Showbiz Tonight and CNN Entertainment cover the apoloby? i seriously doubt it. All Showbiz Tonight is good for is stirring up trouble where there is none. They represent the unseemly side of CNN which, otherwise, is my cable news network of choice.
I'm laughing so much at the fact that you've never heard that song. That just shows how cool you are. No run of the mill, mresntaiam music for you! Ha! Such a cute quote and design. Love.
Yes,I agree....it's the coppy of Mraz's song =0
Don't you here??? Really?
But J.B. are talanted too!
It's a fail of person who did(cooppied) this song,not J.B.'s...)))
ya well there song hey you sounds like a marron five song in the beginning
You would think Jason Mraz would be smart enough to know that just because you sing a song doesn't mean you wrote it. He needs to get his facts straight. He just wants to make a fuss to gain publicity. Good grief!
I love how Jason Mraz thinks these kids are such no talent nothings, he doesn't even bother getting upset and pressing charges. That'd be like the Pillsbury Dough Boy suing a 3 year old kid for dumping flower and eggs on the floor and calling it a cookie.
Took him long enough.
The Jonas Brothers should be thankful that they could even come close to sounding like Jason Mraz in any way. He is so talented!
@Sherri- as someone mentioned above, it's a song written for them... and not even them just for Nick and was in the movie Camp Rock 2. Yes they sound similiar... but this movie came out months ago, why is this just news now? Also Jason Mraz and his avacado farm should be glad someone tried to emulate his song because most of his music sucks.
Jason Mraz does not suck in the least! He is one of the greatest musicians out there right now and trying to do the word some good. What do the Jonas brothers do?... oh yeah, they're just pop stars.
Mraz is right, and he's so cool about it too. Way to go Jason! Jonas Bros = Fail
Anyone who plays guitar knows that the chords used for this song (and the order of them) are also SEVERAL other songs. It's a bummer that Mraz is looking for compensation. As an artist, whom I'm sure makes just as much money should let it go. I like both Mraz and Jonas. I don't like drama.
Did you not read the article? He's not looking for compensation – he jokingly referred to the "$1.29 back for downloading the band’s new single on iTunes." It clearly states he doesn't want anything.
Ans as far Jason Mraz making as much as the Jonas Brothers? You're not familiar with the JoBro target market are you? They're Disney stars, tv, film, music.... household name brands for millions of little girls... Jason Mraz is a far cry from all that.
What people are missing here is that Jason Mraz ripped off Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry Be Happy" song when he wrote I'm yours. Try playing them at the same time it's nuts! I created a mashup of them both that is uncany – they are even in the same key!!!!
Spawns of satan!
This is adorable. I also love the quote you have my whole heart, for my whole life It fits so well with a wendidg gift or anniversary as well. Come visit my website and tell me what you think I am new on the blog block
OK one, they didn't write the song, it was written for them, for the move Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Two, it's not a 'new single'. It's been out since July....Honestly, that song has the most general beat and chord pattern, i bet you thousands of other people have songs that sound just like that, we just don't know it.
It does sound a lot the same. Hmmmmm...
Not for nothing, but the Jonases didn't write that song.
