'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Charlie Sheen most popular actor on earth?

It's Brooke Anderson here, and today I’m really fired up over Charlie Sheen’s attorney and his unbelievable defense of the "Two and a Half Men" actor.

Yale Galanter just appeared on HLN’s “The Joy Behar Show” and claimed that Charlie’s alleged hotel rampage in New York City may have never happened.

Yale admits Charlie did bring a woman up to his room, but basically denies everything else! So where did all the reports of Charlie’s wild night come from? And if they aren’t true, why doesn’t Charlie sue the tabloids for spreading rumors?

Behar asked him that question, saying if Carol Burnett could sue the tabloids for their misreporting, then why can’t Charlie Sheen? Galanter responded: “I don't think that somebody who has got the celebrity status that Charlie has could ever sue a tabloid… Carol Burnett is not Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen is the most popular actor on the planet.”

Wait, so did Yale really call Charlie “the most popular actor on the planet”? He’s popular, no doubt, but that’s a STRONG statement! I’ve covered massive stars like Brad Pitt, Eva Longoria and David Beckham going after tabloids...Is Charlie Sheen really more popular than Brad Pitt?!?

So what do you think? It’s our "Showbiz" Flashpoint today: Is Charlie Sheen really the most popular actor on the planet? Post your comments below and we’ll try to work some in the show.

Of course, that’s not the only story sparking big controversy today. Check out what else I’ll have for you today.

Madonna is speaking out about being bullied! On the same day “Glee” is dedicating an episode to the issue of bullying, Madonna reveals her own experiences being bullied as a kid.

And, LeAnn Rimes is releasing her controversial new song called “Crazy Women." The song is reportedly about women and the men who drive them crazy and cheat on them! Isn’t this just going to make it hard for people to forget her cheating scandal?

What a show! See you on "Showbiz Tonight" at 5 p.m. ET and again at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN today!

Watch Showbiz Tonight Weekdays Exclusively at 11PM ET on HLN.

I am an older person and I really like Charlie Sheen His character is so funny, I always watch the repeats, here in Phoenix they show them back to back and I watch every night. I think the media needs to give the guy a break it really is none of our business re his personal life, I hope things go well for him but as long as he hears his name and all the negativity out there he is going to be even more depressed we would I am sure of it. The money he spends is his money he earned it and if he goes broke he has to deal with it not us. I wish I could send him a message that there is at least some of us that has some respect for his privacy during this hard time all we can do is if you are a believer pray for him. I lived with an alcholic Mother and Father and no matter what we did or said made them change, my Mom got diabetes and my dad died of alchollisim., they have to want to do it and he has reached a point in his life that he wants to do it and I applaud him for it and I will believe he is trying until he says he's not, he has a lot of family support and a great ex wife who is always there(Denise Richardson) I just know he will make it this time, I don't care about CBS or any of that first of all if they can pay him that much an episode they probably don't have to worry and he will always have the people like me that will watch syndication until the bitter end. I wish him so much good luck and my thoughts and prayers are with him, maybe this time he will find the demons that are really bothering him

He's a legend in his own mind. Wonder how his dad feels about all this. Or maybe dad was the role model for Charlies behavior?

Leann doesn't WANT the public to forget the cheating scandal. This is the most relevant she'll ever get. She's so ugly, how could SHE be the other woman? Have you seen Eddie Cibrian's ex? Come on now.

Charile Sheen has never tried to be anybody or anything other than what he wants to be. That's probably why people are more "accepting" of his behavior...he has tried to clean up on occasion but growing up in hollywood he made his bed and continues to lie in it as he so chooses. People need to get over it already, he's not going to change for anybody if he won't even do it for himself or family.

Charlie Sheen? Biggest star? Pahleez. He and his lawyer are delusional. I'll bet Yale is funnier. Sheen sure isn't. And Two and a half Men is the least amusing "comedy" I've ever seen. All three times.

Charlie Sheen is the most popular entertainer, much less actor, on the planet. Booze, dope, gambling, and broads are his game. Keep it up, Charlie, Keith Richards will eventually need a replacement.
