Nancy O'Dell replaces Mary Hart on 'ET'"Entertainment Tonight" has announced that Nancy O'Dell will take over the throne when Mary Hart ends her 30-year reign as the celebrity news program's co-host in 2011. “I remember watching 'Entertainment Tonight' when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday!" O'Dell said in a statement. "It is the original and the gold standard of entertainment news shows. Needless to say, I am thrilled that my dream has come true. "I have greatly admired the show and the incomparable and esteemed Mary Hart - her quiet power and professionalism are beyond admirable. I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend's seat and I hope I can ‘do her proud!"
Beginning in January, O'Dell will ease into her "ET" duties as a special correspondent and substitute co-anchor for the show before taking over for Hart at the end of the season. "Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O'Dell makes that decision much easier," says Hart, who joined "ET" in 1982 and announced her retirement in August. "Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield; I look forward to now working together, and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor.”

Nancy is a talented beauty, and Mary Hart is always fresh and a pleasure. I watched her in the beginning and still enjoy her. Good luck to them both.
But I gave up on ET when it decided the tabloid trash and crime stories were the best lead it could have. OJ kicked it off, and since then it has been worse and worse. Last night, the first 10 seconds was about Natalie Holloway. In what way is she or was she Entertainment related? I mean other than morbid fascination. I never found out, I turned to Jeopardy.
