CBS's "The Amazing Race" is about to get some competition from a very similar series by reality producer Mark Burnett.

Deadline.com reports that ABC has given the thumbs up to Burnett's adventure show "Expedition Impossible," which has a premise not unlike "The Amazing Race," with the major difference being that each competing team consists of three people instead of two.

According to the show's official description, "Teams of three will solve problems while racing across deserts, over mountains, and through rivers. Each week, a new stage of the expedition will be revealed. After ten stunning legs of competition, one team will cross the finish line first to claim victory."
