Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are engagedFive years after he announced his split from Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey is set to become a newlywed again: The singer, 36, popped the question to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, 29, on Thursday. “We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together," the couple said in a joint statement to CNN. Lachey and Minnillo, who began dating in 2006 and briefly split in 2009, were near a California beach on November 4 when he presented the former MTV host with a Bader & Garrin Asscher-cut diamond with baguettes, reports People.
Later that day, Lachey confirmed their good news via Twitter. "Hey all. If anyone's heard the rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true! Vanessa and I couldn't be happier," he wrote. "Thanks for all the love."

I wish them all the happiness in the world! One thing they have going for them is they stay out of the lime light for the most part. Nick seems down to earth and so does Vanessa so I think they will make it.

i'm happy yet sad they are getting engaged. I mean he moved on pretty quick after Jessica filed for divorce and poor Jessica hasn't found the right guy up until now, and let's hope he doesn't break her heart. She let a really good catch get away, its unfortunate. I sitll don't know why they got divorced anyway. I still watch them as a couple on NEWLEYWEDS and I love them togetheir, but I suppose Vanessa treats him well and she was there for him thru his toughest time. Wish them an eternal marriage.

Jessica may not be the brightest builb out there but she has a lucrative carrer between singing and her fashon endeavours. Call her what you may, but she makes her own money. Vanessa lives of what Nick has left since he himself has not done too much either.
