'Two and a Half Men' ratings go up

This is the type of news that reinforces the adage, "all publicity is good publicity."

Since actor Charlie Sheen had a headline-making stay at the Plaza in New York and confirming that he's heading back to divorce court, ratings for Sheen's CBS hit "Two and a Half Men" have gone up.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show saw a 7 percent increase for Monday's episode, with 13.6 million tuning in.

Sheen was back on the "Two and a Half Men" set Tuesday.

Aston just doesn't have what it takes....he is awful....the show isn't funny at all.....And I think Chuck needs to admit this one is a flop....BIG TIME.....I want Charlie....I want Charlie.....He might be a little crazy but what an actor....

He is an actor not a senator or judge. His personal demons are his alone and have nothing to do with his job. We all have our problems, his are just on display for the world to see. Try living with that pressure.

It;s a TV show people and it's funny! Who cares what Charlie does in his real life? Plus, Charlie doesn't go around acting all saintly like that tramp Angelina who's a goody two shoes one minute and a homewrecker the next! Charlie is who he is and he's probably a lot like his character. I have zero sympathy for the women who get involved with him – he's had the same rep for years so they know what they're getting into. I do think maybe Charlie should stay away from tall, thin blondes and look for real women...he'd probably be happier...

I really don't care about his personal life or any celebrities for that matter. All I know is that this has been the funniest season of Two and a Half men so far. People that think the show is terrible have no sense of humor what so ever!

Charlie may be a terrific actor, and I'm sure his show is funny. However, domestic violence is no laughing matter. I sincerely hope nobody else gets injured in this situation. Yes, we all have our faults, but domestic violence is a serious crime that does not need to be excused any longer.

Of course the ratings have gone up! He has made a career out of playing the loveable drunken womanizer. Take a look at his credits: Hot Shots, Major League, Spin City, Two And A Half Men. In Major League he went straight from prison to the Cleveland Indians' starting rotation. Nobody feels betrayed by his off camera actions, because that's the character he plays. This isn't Mr. Rogers. I don't drink, smoke or gamble but I enjoy this character. He's not a great actor, but his writers do good work with what he has to offer.

Ok so there is something I'm not quite understanding here. Everyone seems to be posting that we should "leave him alone" with his problems, because it isn't our business. I agree, we should stay out of personal lives. But why does that make it ok to break the law? The guy comes out and admits publicly to breaking the law, but its ok because he admitted it?

I think one reason–maybe THE reason–Charlie's publicity appears to have even helped his carrer is because the public behavior is actually consistent with the character he portrays. Viewers don't feel deceived by his real life escapades. And it is respectable that he is unapologetic. He is who he is, love it or leave it. The real stupidity is the fact than women keep hooking up with him. What idiots. (Incidently readers, I am a woman and I have really good self-esteem). It's another example of how women seek out the "bad boys" , but he's the reality of what a bad boy is in the real world. I say go Charlie. You're genuine. And I DO think Two and Half Men is a terrific show. It's one of the few that has stayed funny over the years of it's run, and it would go down the tubes without Charlie. The women who subject themselves to his rotten behavior need to take responsibilty for their actions they freely chose. They are not going to change him and are foolish to even try. Believe it or not I used to work to help battered women. Yes, women will go back to their abusers. Most of them have no other resources or skills and fear trying to go it alone and will even choose to go back to abuse rather than be terrified by alternatives. But these Hollywood women have wonderful options and should make better choices.
    Go Charlie! 🙂

Quite pointing fingers until the truth comes out. If you dont like the tv show dont watch it, if you dont like him dont discuss him. As for me,, the tv show can be a bit much,, but I like his brother he is the one who makes the show...alone with the son. Charlie is added flavor to the show. Then there is the housekeeper she is a riot. So Mr. Sheen do what you have to do. I will watch "One Tree Hill"

The man has been battling his own demonds for years. If those women chose to be with him then it is their responsibility to deal with him. The women know his behavior-he has not changed in 30 years- so stay away girls if you know hwat is good for you. He is talented and funny and sad at the same time. Be grateful you are not in his shoes- no need to bash and judge. Charlie is good at being human and making mistakes- he is paying- he is battling everyday. If he would stop trying to conform to society- stop getting married, stop having kids, stop pretending, he may just be better off.

Yea, the show is funny but not like it used to be. Charlie retains the character that makes the show what it is. The character Allen has become boring. Some moments of laughter but not as much. For me Jake has become more enjoyable than Sheen or Cryer. As for Charlie's personal life it is our business to some extent. Public figures are role models regardless. For his sake + his kids, Charie needs to get his sh** together. It stinks! And I don't care what anyone says. Domestic violence IS NOT OK!

This is all about money. If Charlie Sheen wasn't on a hit show, then we would all be very critical of him. In my opinion, he is worse than Chris Brown. His abusive behavior has been going on for at least twenty years. I remember the incident when he shot Kelly Preston(who later married John Travolta) in the arm. Thought it was weird there were no charges.

The man is a menace and a thug. Whoever is clearing things for him to act is doing a hell of a job. Maybe they should help out Mel Gibson(BTW, I'm being sarcastic).

Charlie Sheen has never been in a movie I didnt like. Thougfh I have never seen a single episode of Charlie Sheen on his TV series, his success in it proves that hes a versatile actor in the Alist category. Who watches TV series now when you have dozens of 24 hour movie channels ? What he does with his lovers in the privacy of his bedroom is nobodys business, but Charlie Sheen's. If I had Charlie's cash I would do the same as he does-have a drop dead gorgeous blonde on my arm all the time in public, and 3 at home . Who needs marriage, and the same woman till the day you die? Man by nature, is not monogamous. Charlie Sheen just is living proof of that. Watching Charlie Sheen's incredible flick " Under Pressure " once a week, should be required viewing for us all. You are an inspiration Charlie, and much loved ALWAYS and UNCONDITIONALLY !!!!

The show is very funny. But let's not forget how he spent last christmas with his family. This man has severe issues.

Everyone makes mistakes and rather than seeing Charlie as what he is a normal human being with problems and addiction like so many others so he got drunk or had an adverse reactions whatever the case may be he isnt a superhero he a man with weaknesses like anyone else he brings great skill to his career hes made people laugh and been an excellent actor so he got drunk and made a scene it doesnt deminish the fact that hes a wonderful actor comedian and person God bless you Charlie we love you

Charlie's main problem is that he can't understand that even a fantasy real life like he is living, has certain limitations.

Agree. Script is witty which is a rarity in most sit coms of today. It is purely entertainment folks. Loosen up.

Why do people waste time watching this deviant? The only way I would tune in is if he was having his Johnson chain sawed off.
