'Captain Kangaroo's' Mr. Baxter dies at 92James Wall, who played Mr. Baxter on “Captain Kangaroo” during the 1960s and '70s, died in his sleep on October 27. He was 92. When Wall ended his run as Captain Kangaroo’s smart neighbor on the popular children’s program in 1978, he became a stage manager at CBS, where he worked up until last year. A fixture at the network, The Director’s Guild of America presented Wall with the Franklin J. Schaffner Achievement Award in 1994. Wall is survived by his wife.

'Showbiz Tonight': Could Paula's new show take down 'Idol?'A ferocious debate broke out today about whether or not Denise Richards should be thanking her ex Charlie Sheen for helping her promote her new TV gig on Spike TV. While Denise did not talk about what happened on that night in Sheen's hotel suite, she did march on with all those interviews. Is this theory mean spirited? You will have to check out our debate later on in the show. Today we are hearing that Paula Abdul’s new dance show, “Live to Dance,” may go head-to-head with “American Idol.” A lot of people are still furious that Paula is off “Idol.” And remember, “Idol’s” ratings were down about 10 percent last season. (Do you even remember who won? It was Lee DeWyze… you are probably scratching your head saying, “Lee DeWho?”) So do you think Paula’s show could take down the big beast that is “American Idol?" Which show would you rather watch? Paula’s new show, or “Idol?" “Shape” magazine reportedly issued a big fat apology to their readers after they featured LeAnne Rimes on their cover. Calling it “a terrible mistake”, the magazine's editor-in-chief said she was sorry they featured the so-called homewrecker on their cover. Rimes - who has admitted to cheating on ex-husband Dean Sheremet with then-married "CSI" hunk Eddie Cibrian - opened up in the magazine about how her workouts saved her. "Showbiz Tonight" is guessing LeAnne Rimes can’t be too happy. So is Shape's apology a big slap in the face to LeAnne?! You'll have to tune in to hear our fired up debate.

Shape editor says apology for LeAnn Rimes cover taken out of contextShape magazine readers were fit to be tied when country singer LeAnn Rimes appeared on the October cover, and while the magazine's editor-in-chief did send an apology to some readers who wrote in about the cover story, she says her words have been taken out of context. The issue, which showed 28-year-old Rimes posing in a red bikini, included an interview in which she admitted cheating on ex-husband Dean Sheremet with current beau Eddie Cibrian. "My relationship with Dean was great, but ultimately it wasn't a fulfilling marriage for either of us," she said. "I understand why people are disappointed in me, especially since I grew up as America's sweetheart."

And Billboard's Woman of the Year Award goes to...Billboard has named Fergie its 2010 Woman of the Year. With six Grammys under her belt, the singer, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, said, “I am humbled and excited to accept the Billboard Woman of the Year Award. Being honored by Billboard is a great career achievement.” In addition to the success Fergie experienced with her solo album in 2006, Billboard reported that the Black Eyed Peas hold the record for the longest streak of consecutive weeks spent at No. 1 on its Hot 100 chart.

Who's performing at the Rally to Restore Sanity?Funnyman Jon Stewart may not be laughing when he finds out that the hush-hush details of tomorrow's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in Washington, D.C., have been revealed. The Christian Science Monitor has obtained a copy of the event's permit, and according to Rolling Stone, the document includes the names of all of the celebrities who will be on hand - as well as a few who are still "TBD." The rally is expected to kick off at 10 a.m., with videos and music entertaining the crowd on a Jumbotron until music group the Roots take the stage at noon. A comedian will join the fun at 12:40 pm, getting the audience ready for "The Daily Show" host, who will appear at 1:05 pm.

Who’s seeing ‘Saw 3D’ this weekend?There’s nothing better than a little scare on Halloween weekend, but, according to some very displeased critics, that scare isn’t going to take place at the movie theater. “Saw 3D: The Final Chapter,” already garnered about $1.7 million from domestic theaters’ 12 a.m., Friday screening, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
