'Real Housewives of D.C.' on 'Nation Building'They may call it “Nation Building,” but I call it "Party Crashing." Yes, this is the episode where they finally (sort of) get to the big crash, the White House state dinner. Lynda is casting for a fashion show by a designer from Burkina-Faso. For some reason it amuses me that she checks her astrological chart before she goes to the show, but what was really funny is that she had the Salahis’ picture posted with security to make sure they don’t show up for Lynda’s event. She knows how they are about showing up places they aren't invited. Perhaps they were practicing for the big show. For the real issue of the night, Stacie is getting ready to contact a biological sibling who doesn’t know he has a sister, much less a black sister. Sade announces worldwide tourSade lovers rejoice! The smooth operator is planning to embark on her first global tour in a decade. The British singer is well known for keeping her fans waiting years between projects, and in celebration of the platinum selling success of her "Soldier of Love" album, she will kick off a tour in Baltimore, Maryland in June 2011. Tickets go on sale in select markets on October 16 and according to the singer's website, those who RSVP via Facebook will receive a special code enabling them to purchase tickets early. ![]() Weeklies cheat sheet: Britney, Brad and (maybe) baby newsWe're sorry to say that the tales being told on the front covers of your favorite celebrity weeklies are a bit on the tame side this time around. (Anytime the cast of "Glee" is accused of having diva antics, you know it's been a slow news week.) But aside from Lea Michele probably demanding half her salary in knee socks, you can also read about how Britney's recovery is doing, how Brad Womack promises he'll let a television network marry him off for realz this time, and how a lot of those reality TV ladies may be knocked up. Until next week... Twitter remembers TV icon Stephen J. CannellThe first thing you remember is that "vanity card." At the end of every episode of a show produced by Stephen J. Cannell, you would see him tear a sheet out of his typewriter, which would then float into an animation making the letter "C." It's something that just about anyone who watched TV in the 1970s and '80s can remember. Cannell died on Thursday, due to complications associated with melanoma, at the age of 69. There were 77 TV series or movies where he had a producer credit, and he was a writer on over 60 of those, not to mention a number of mystery novels (one of which he discussed with CNN.com in 2008, as seen in the video above.). Denali clan cast in 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'A slew of Hollywood stars are ready to sink their teeth into roles as the Denali coven in the hotly anticipated "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn." Summit Entertainment has announced that in addition to "Lost" star Maggie Grace, some other familiar faces will be baring their fangs in the films, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Like Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family, the Denali are vegetarian vampires. Christian Camargo ("The Hurt Locker," "Dexter") and Mia Maestro ("Alias") will play Eleazar and Carmen, the Spanish leaders of the coven. Casey LaBow ("Moonlight") and MyAnna Buring ("Doomsday") will vamp it up as Russian sisters Kate - who can produce electric currents and shock her victims - and Tanya, who competes with Bella (Kristen Stewart) for Edward's attention. Grace, as previously reported, plays their sister Irina, who blames the Cullens for the death of her former lover and seeks revenge by revealing a secret to the evil Volturi. "Breaking Dawn" is set to start filming in November, with the two-part finale set for release on Nov. 18, 2011, and Nov. 16, 2012. No more rides on the Staten Island ferry for 'Jersey Shore'The only thing that could have made last night’s episode of “Jersey Shore” more entertaining is if Angelina had packed her clothes in garbage bags a la season one. That way, when she left her luggage outside the house, a garbage truck might have mistook it for trash and swiped it. But on to what actually happened… The episode began with The Situation and Angelina’s fight regarding “the situation” she left on the bathroom floor. Despite a shove and some trash talk, the fight ended pretty abruptly. |
