TBS pulls the plug on 'My Boys'This isn't the best week for fans of the TBS comedy “My Boys." Sunday not only marked the end of the fourth season, but it turns out that was the end of "My Boys" altogether. The network (which, like CNN, is owned by Time Warner) has canceled the series. That final episode, according to Variety, pulled in 879,000 viewers, and it looks like ratings have been on the decline. Some fans say they saw the writing on the wall when TBS moved the show to Sunday nights at 10 p.m. - a time slot already known to many as "Mad Men"-o'clock. To make matters worse, both Jordana Spiro, who played the lead as sportswriter P.J. Franklin, and Kyle Howard, who played rival sportswriter Bobby Newman, had to bow out of new gigs on NBC shows because of contractual obligations to “My Boys." |

This was one of the best shows on TV, and it never got the backing it deserved. Apparently, TBS prefers to trade in reruns and garbage.
About damn time. What a awful, arrogant show about female sportwriters and Chicago Cub fans. This show makes one forget that Chicago has two baseball teams, and that other one (Go WhiteSox!!) is battling (well choking) for first place.
TBS had to cancel it. It had a mostly white cast and all the other shows on "The Black Station" are, well black. It didn't hurt that the show sucked either.
This was is AWESOME! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very sad to see it go, loved how it highlighted Chi-town spots & burbs. Cast and writing were GREAT!
What a sad bit of news. We looked forward to the show every week (infrequent as it was). As someone who has no interest in reality shows or the so-called celebrities they create I am running out of television worth watching. At least House MD is still on...for now. Big mistake TBS.
I just watched this years season finale. Only 8 episodes this season!!?? this show was just as good if not better than "The Big Bang Theory" I was looking forward to next season with the newlyweds MIke and Marcia... there were are lot of story lines that could have been explored... Kenny and Stephanie's move to London..The re-birth of Crowleys... on and on... was looking forward to seeing the Bobby-PJ relationship grow... good thing I DVD'd every single epidsoe this season....SHAME on you TBS!!!!
TBS did this show a disservice for the past two seasons by airing such few episodes and by moving its time slot. This is one of the most well written shows, and the cast and characters are amazing. I will miss them!
What a shame that 879,000 viewers aren't enough to keep a show that has such a great and collectively talented and funny group of actors and clever writing on the air. This show had more realism than the useless, shameful Hollywood-based reality shows. My sister and I will miss the Crowley's gang!
My best friend and i loved this show. it was so funny. we are very upset and confused. Werent the cast memebers just starring in a new commercial ? doesnt that mean that people must like them? this is so upsetting.
What a major disappointment!
I don't have cable any longer, but this was an awesome show. It should be on primary network TV. Well written and funny! Too bad!!!
