'Real Housewives of D.C.' heats up

Things are picking up in the land of the D.C. "Housewives," but for all the wrong reasons.

For starters, there was the way Tareq decided to wrap up a friendly dinner and a day at the winery. “Hey, come spend the day at my winery, sit down and have a meal and, by the way, your child is a car thief!”

These Salahi people are hardly hosts of the year. Tareq told Mary (and everyone else in the room, not to mention Bravo’s audience) that her daughter was involved with the theft of his $90,000 car and some polo equipment, and that she had posted about it on Facebook. Mary could barely say anything she was so shocked, and she ended the evening in tears.

Stacie and her husband Jason stepped in to talk about how wrong it was to accuse the girl like that. Stacie and Jason might have been the only cast members left who were giving the Salahis the benefit of what Jason called “mounting doubt.”

To top it all off, Michaele claims the charity suffered. Really? Your husband says your friend’s child committed a felony that the FBI is investigating and you’re talking about how some charity suffered? I love that Jason called them on their nonsense.

I’m sure that’s not going to be the end of that. Lolly, Mary’s daughter, thinks they should just drop it because the Salahis want the attention. Her parents say they checked with authorities to make sure there was nothing to what the Salahis said, but they didn’t confront them about it yet.

On a side note, I think Bravo ought to consider giving the D.C. guys their own show. (Except for Mr. Salahi.) They don’t seem to take themselves too seriously and they’re funny or outraged when the situation calls for it.

Michaele, on the other hand, needs to change her name to “deluded.” When she thanked her assistant for helping out for the day at the winery, she talked about how perfect the day was. Yeah, aside from Cat feeling like she needed to leave early and accusations of felonies flying around. And, knowing what we all know about the Salahis’ activities, it was pretty funny to hear her wonder why someone would post their nefarious activities on Facebook.

And is it just me, or does Cat seem to seek out situations where she can irritate people? She had lunch with a Republican lobbyist she met at the Salahis polo event and proceeded to insult GOP policy and candidates - and she was just getting started.

Despite all the insults, the lobbyist invited Cat, her husband and whatever friends they wanted to bring to a health care reform event. Cat enlisted the help of her small girls to choose an inappropriate outfit. Why even go if you oppose Republicans and everything they stand for? Why try to start trouble? Why go dressed as Sarah Palin? It wasn’t a costume party; even her husband wasn’t sure what to say about it. Then she confronted Michaele’s assistant about calling her out of her name on winery day. Who knows what might have happened if the lobbyist had been able to make it.

All these reality shows seem to play up a villain, and while I think Michaele and Tareq are in the lead on that one, Cat seems to be making an effort to take the title. What do you think? Who’s your least favorite D.C. housewife?

Cat – go back to the UK and let them PAY YOUR MEDICAL BILLS! It's not the job of the citizens of this great country to pay YOUR medical bills! get a job!!! 18 months 23K in medical bills – its criminal to pay for healthcare you say? Is it criminal to pay your rent as well? In America we do things better than you – that's why the UK healthcare system is a failure!

I'm glad someone FINALLY mentioned that. It's been driving me crazy that Lynda calls Michaele Makayla!! How come no one has addressed that?

I'm now embarrassed to admit I was born and raised in DC, the city that produces such an abomination such as this show, filled with characters of low and unquestionable judgement and demeanor (because White House party crashing is SO the rage in the DC social scene!), and the assurance that the next generation of experientially cut-off children-c*m-adults will grow into vacuously counterproductive members of the DC social scene..

    We need real role models..

I don't get why people keep saying they hope Bravo cancels the show. If you don't like it, don't watch it! But the rest of us who do like it want it on, and we don't care if you like it or not. I personally prefer watching ladies on the east coast over the west coast. I wouldn't say they're "classy" but they certainly have a different set of rules, and it's more interesting to watch over the trainwrecks on the OC, and most likely the BH.

get real, people, get real people.
The Salahis took a working winery that was profitable and bankrupted it. They are spoiled idiots who feel they are helping their employees by giving them $5 extra at Christmas. Besides criminal behavior, they are oblivious to the real world.

This show is like a train wreck: you don't want to watch it, but you do. I am a huge Housewives fan and watch everyone of them including, and hate to admit it, D.C. I'm having a difficult time getting into this one. The Salahis are great actors. You can tell that whatever they do, they are doing it for the camera. Michaele has a hard time not looking at the camera. Anyway, for all it's worth, I hope the producers of this show end it with this season. I AM looking forward to the Beverly Hills wives.

The Salahis should have been cut from the show before it even aired. Bravo knew they were fakes and social climbers and still went ahead with them..What were they thinking ?
As to Cat, I am so very offended by her rude behaviour. You are a guest in this Country so act like one.
If you do not like the way Americans live and how OUR goverment works then go back to jolly old England. Since when is it the job of the American people to pay YOUR Medical Bills in the first place..the gall of that women sends me into fits. She is Rude and abrasive and she has little to no concern for the other people at any given event or gathering . She is the kind of person of self importance that made us not want to be pert of Britan in the first place...
Mary Seems like a nice Mom and Mother that has lived in D.C for a long time and might not know much about the world outside DC but still I like her.
Lynn is just a lady that is trying to enjoy the later part of her life and she seems to want to not deal with all the drama.. A bit boring but at least not a criminal or a snob.
Stacie is just way to worried about RACE.. everything comes down to race one way or another.. grow a thicker skin. Race only matters in the mind of the person that is worring about it and to tell the truth most people are just pain tired of hearing the race card being played all the time.. When you play it each and every time you open your mouth if it is the first thing on your mind when you meet people , first it is a personal problem and second it creates an enviroment were you make it harder on people of all races and creed to get a fair shake when their truly is an issue of Racisam.. Just Stop the race stuff and she might be more interesting.. But I did like the way she and her husband stood up for Mary and her daughter aginst the Salahis..
The show is not as good as the Housewives of New Jersey.. Now theose were real housewives..

i must comment on Tareq's voice–did he sound like a cartoon character or what? When he said 'Ohhh-it's very serious" he sounded just like Elmer Fudd. All he needed was a hat. Most of the women handle themselves with grace in my opinion including Cat as she may be abrasive but is honest. The Salahis can go now–the sooner the better.

Michaele is not interesting enough to stay tuned in to for. I do not find her intelligent or funny and seem to wait her scenes out to the others.
Mary and Linda are the next two least enjoyable to me.
While Mary seems sweet ..I think if you remove money and status from her life.. she would shine a lot brighter.. for now, she comes across fake but can very well maintain at all times the appropriate position.. not necessarily the most natural looking.

Linda is aging.. fighting it and filling it with the stereotypical ways whereas she would appear more soft and inticing if she imbraced her age and did so more appropriately.. in acceptance.
Stacie and Cat are two very class acts. I do believe they are just too different to bond as close friends but in their own right.. they shine for their true characters.

I 4get the show is on but when I'm ficking channels and come across it, I'll watch it. I like Cat, Mary and Stacie. I think Michaele is kind of an airhead. I don't know the other ladies name. I think Michaele and Tariq need 2 get a life. DON'T SHARE ONE; get a life of their own. They come across rude, disrespectful and have NO class!

sorry, meant attack. Glad Jason and Stacie were there, though I think Tareq thought they would be on his side and join the attack. Boy was he wrong, Tareq came out looking the fool.

Cat is rude, being English has nothing to do with it. Michaele is not deluded just a fraud in skinny clothing. To attach Mary about her grown daughter when the investigation is not done in front of othe guest does not a good host make, and Michaele was right there with him. They are depolorable and vulgar, no class what so ever.

The Salamis have all kinds of fun in court coming up. Michaele is being sued by a plastic surgeon, that happens on 9/17. Then there is a hearing to determine who has power of attorney over Tareq's dad – him or his mother. he wants to use it to stop the bankruptcy – no wonder he is pimping his wife to playboy – Keep Tareq in the lifestyle he wants to become accustomed to.

Cat mentioned she had huge medical bills...what for, plastic surgery? And she expects the public to foot the bill for her. Maybe before she had her face done she looked more like her homely daughters. Just saying.

Cat is from the UK where health care is a right, not a privilege, and provided for free to everyone. All European countries have free health care for everyone, even tourists. SO, that might be why she's a bit cranky about having medical bills.

Cat is the best. She is the Greek Chorus for the DC housewives. I do not think she seeks out people to insult, it is simply that her husband is so well-placed in DC that people- all kinds of people – gravitate towards her...and then BAM! She calls the BS as she sees it.

My least fave housewife is BOTH of the Salahis!
