Bristol Palin’s ‘modest’ ‘DWTS’ costume revealedWhile some of her “Dancing With The Stars” competitors opted for siren-red above-the-knee ensembles, Bristol Palin appears to have kept her word on donning a comparatively more modest costume...well, when it comes to length in the front, at least. The 19-year-old single mom told People that she thought she'd "be the most dressed [contestant and have] the most modest outfits for sure because that's who I am," and in a promo shot for the show, Palin is wearing a black, ankle-length dress with a relatively demure neckline. The costume isn’t without some sexiness, however, as the dress also bears quite a bit of lace, fringe and ruffles.
If there's one star we could count on to show as much skin as they allow on this primetime program, that would be Palin's competitor, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, but it doesn't appear he made it to “Dancing’s” picture day. The Sitch isn't pictured in his costume on ABC’s website, which may be because of his lingering "Jersey Shore" production duties. The reality TV star told People that he was going to lose a few practice days because of his schedule, therefore already emerging as the show's "underdog." But knowing the circumstances with The Situation’s abs, we wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to wear nothing more than a vest as he gets down alongside partner Karina Smirnoff.

I agree with whoever said this was the worst year for the stars they chose for the show. I am already bored, half of them I have never heard of and the other half I care nothing about watching. Probably won't after this last week.
Thanks goodness, The Hoff was voted off or I was not going to be able to watch this season and I love this show. I didn't even watch Baywatch because he is such a bad actor. But poor Kym should have gotten Rick Fox, they would make a great couple. Please America vote off that pompus self-absorbed "situation guy" before he makes me vomit. It's okay to be somewhat confident but he acts like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, far from it loser, find some humility before it slaps you in the face.
wow! so many women palin-haters here. what is it with women and jealousy? i just happened to see bristol dance and was quite good and attractive. too bad, they showed the audience and that loud nicey (entertainment tonight) was all fuming inside because bristol had real hair, pretty face and very attractive long legs. yes, nicey, if you happen to read this; bristol isn't obese like you and she is not offensively loud. cut it out you hateful women who can't give bristol a break just because she's attractive like her mom. you can't stop it if they have a lot of money or if money comes easily to them. bristol is not the only teenage girl who had a baby. gosh! just cut it out already.
Will it ever end with the trashy Palins? I've seen enough of this trash to last me more than a lifetime. I don't know whose the bigger joke – Sarah who can see Russia from her house – or Bristol speaking to teenagers about abstinence (at $15k per appearance). I'm just wondering – how modestly was Bristol dressed when she was tumbiling around with Levi? Seems Mommy should have been paying closer attention...

I think Bristol's dress is the best of the bunch. Its personally too long for my taste – but it is very well done. And I'm definitely glad that she isn't wearing what Audrina is wearing – I wouldn't want to see a stretch-marked baby belly hanging out – and Audrina is a very beautiful girl and that dress doesn't do anything for her.

To DWTS Producers: Your show is my favorite and only reality show that I watch. I have been a fan since the second season and have watched faithfully. I don't mind that the non-star Bristol Palin is on. I really don't mind watching her on the show. But PLEASE, do not let her imbecile mother appear in the audience. That I could not take. Your show is about bringing famililies and people together for enjoyment and there is alot of fun things going on the show. Silly Sarah does not belong with this crowd, regardless of her daughter, because she is for dividing people by fear and hatred. So again I BEG, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE QUITTER PALIN on the show. The entire problem is the dumb media that keeps promoting the idiots. Anyone who walks away from a governor's office and says she could no longer accomplish anything is full of it. Good gracious, there are a lot of really hateful people in this world. I don't care for Sarah Palin at all, but you can't blame the kid for who her mom is...she can't help that. Why should she not take opportunities to make money for herself and her child? Would you rather she work at McDonald's and make so little she becomes eligible for some sort of public assistance?
Some say they will vote her off just because they don't like her/her mom. Not sure how the voting works, but I guess you'd have to call in votes for everyone except her since you can only vote for someone, not against them. Anyone who would go to that trouble to get rid of her is extremely petty and spiteful, just plain sick. Judge her on how well (or poorly) she performs.
So what if she made a mistake in the heat of the moment with her then-boyfriend. It doesn't make her a hypocrite to try to move on from that and do what she feels is right for her and her child. Again, I think her mom is nutty and would never vote for her, but you need to separate her from her mother and not hold it against her. Poor kid...honestly, I hope she has a bodyguard. Judging by comments I've seen here and elsewhere, she needs one.
I have studied dance most of my life and a large part of ballroom dancing involves showing the gracefulness and beauty of the human body. There is nothing shameful or immodest about tastefully and beautifully showing the elegance of the human frame during the art of dance. A ballroom costume should capture the spirit and essence of the dance and not be used as a platform to tout modesty in dress. If Bristol’s prerequisite for every costume is modesty above interpretation then I think that she is missing the point. I find it very disappointing that Bristol took the stance of a Pentecostal preacher with two left feet rather than a young woman who truly understands the beauty and sensuality of dance.

Why isn't the Mother of all Mother's (according to her), Sarah at home with her challenged son. I could care less about her mother's politics. Shouldn't someone tell her that dancers usually dress "immodestly" so they can DANCE?! For *$&#'s sake. I've watched groups of fully-grown *quite* attractive adults dance fully nude before and been so wrapped up in the movement that I didn't notice the nakedidity until halfway through. I don't object to her participation because she's not a star, I object because she has no idea of what dance is about.
Let me first say on a political front... I am an independent, in this particular election I voted for Obama, and I was none too thrilled will sara palin and her so-called political views, however that being said... Bristol has the right to do what she wants, be out of the spotlight, or completely in the spot light. She is a pretty girl who did not ask for all the criticism of her mother to be put onto her. I hate to see all these horrible remarks about her. I am not a fan of her mother in the least, but geez... give it a break and back off! Modest is relative - I'd put cash on that thing being backless, and that lace looks remarkably flesh-toned underneath. A low hem does not a modest dress make, my dear publicity-for-your-mother dancer. This is also only the first week, and we'll see how long her 'modest dress' pledge holds up. (That long skirt also looks tremendously visually distracting for a week that involves what looks like the cha-cha based on the other ladies' dresses.)

I guess with all the other garbage cnn reports this fits right in except this is even below CNN's standard but then again I guess CNN has not hit the bottom of the bottom yet and since they are on the bottom they can dig as deep as they want. I can't decide if I think she should cash in on her mother's selfish disregard for her privacy when she chose to run for vice president...(while ridiculously unqualified for the position)...during a very sensitive time in her life...or whether I think she should run the other way and try to stay out of the news. It is the media that brings these losers into the so-called limelight by continuously reporting their every move.

I work. Bristol would be the one with time to sit around eating Twinkies. No education, no job...feeding off the Palin trainwreck. She's keeping her baby and she's got the money and support to do it. That would be an ideal situation for many single women who find they are pregnant and would love to keep the baby but have no way to support themselves or a baby. If Sarah Palin and her kool-aid drinkers really believed in keeping the baby, they would believe in supporting the baby once it's here. Bristol actually has the money and support to go to school, raise her baby WITHOUT having to be on Dancing with the Stars. Face it...NO ONE in this family passes up a chance to be in front of the cameras.

I think we have known from it's first season that this show is "Dancing with the Famous/Infamous" not "Dancing with the Stars". Get a clue, and stop trashing the girl. The show is all about ratings, she is on the show because she is in the news and draws ratings. I would even be willing to bet that her selection even considered the controversy that would be created.

Brandy wasn't drinking she was on the phone and she did cause an accident that killed someone. She settled a civil case with the woman's husband and children. How does this excuse Bristol Palin having an out of wedlock child when she, her mom, and their party claim to believe in abstinence? Also Brandi is a grammy winning recording artist. What has Bristol done beside give birth to an out of wedlock child and make money off of being a single mother?
Actually, you're all wrong. She wasn't on the phone, drunk, or distracted. The cars ahead of her slowed to a sudden stop causing her to have to break to quickly. It was a car accident that unfortunately ended up being fatal. The evidence wasn't even concrete as to who caused the wreck, which is why Brandy was never punished.

Yes it's true there are weird people within the entertainment industry but no one seems to be able to answer this one question... How does she rate to be on this show when she's not even a star? This is just another chance for the media to hype up some teenage girl who should be doing teenage things, not be in the spotlight for her personal life,because if what she has done in her personal life makes her a star, then there are alot of young woman who are being overlooked within our society. This show needs to stick with true Stars if it wants to continue on for future seasons.

Maybe this stint will pay for her child's therapy once he's reads how often she has stated he was a mistake, mistake, mistake. Most teen Moms don't get the opportunity to have an annual income like hers with or without an education. She has just been able to leap right over her mistake (her words, not mine) and make a bundle off it, instead of overcome a tough decision to keep and raise a child alone. Her only claim to fame is as Sarah Palin's knocked up daughter. That doesn't usually equate to speaking engagements, luxury hotels and being asked on Dancing with Stars.
I can't stand Angelina Jolie either. She and Sarah and Bristol are in the same boat as far as I'm concerned.

First they had Kate Gosselin who was only famous for having given birth to so many kids, they have her on DWTS, SHE IS NOT A STAR, and on top of it all, she could not dance.
