Meet the cast of 'Dancing with the Stars'

The 11th edition of "Dancing with the Stars" gets under way on September 20th, and now we know who will be lacing up their dance shoes for the prestigious Mirrorball Trophy. What do you think of this season's "Dancing with the Stars" cast?

Brandy - The singer and actress looks to continue her showbiz comeback, which began earlier this year with her VH1 reality show.

Jennifer Grey - She sizzled on the dance floor in “Dirty Dancing,” but that was nearly a quarter-century ago.  Her main goal?  Not being put in a corner.

Margaret Cho - The actress and comic has been seen dancing on Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva.”

Audrina Patridge - The “Hills” alum looks to extend her 15 minutes of fame.

Florence Henderson - The 76-year-old “Brady Bunch” mom is arguably the sentimental favorite this season.

Bristol Palin - Alaska’s most famous single mom puts on her dancing shoes.  Does Levi Johnston get custody during tapings?

Michael Bolton - The crooner may be popular with the ladies, but he’ll have to use his feet to win on this stage.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino - The “Jersey Shore” regular hopes to show he’s more than a reality show superstar. Instead, he hopes to be a superstar on two reality shows!

David Hasselhoff - We can only hope he realizes that people in Germany can’t vote to keep him alive on the show.

Kurt Warner - Sports stars always seem to do well on this show, and this Super Bowl-winning quarterback hopes to keep the streak alive.

Kyle Massey - According to the show, the actor starred on the Disney Channel series “That’s So Raven” and “Cory in the House.” Since I’m not 12-years-old, I have absolutely no clue who this man is.

Rick Fox - The actor and former NBA player was once married to actress Vanessa Williams.

I just read a story about stars who have turned down DWTS and one star who regularly campaigns to get on the show but hasn't been selected yet – Melanie Griffith. Now there's a real star! In its infinite wisdom DWTS picks Bristol baby mama but turns down Melanie? Don't give up Melanie, we're pulling for you!

If Bristol Palin was the daughter of a famous liberal politician she would be celebrated as a responsible young single mother doing her best to raise her son. Sad when your readers prefer young irresponsible cocaine addicted women such as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to be celebrities. In the big scheme of things, does it really matter who the heck DWTS has on the show, you have the power to vote them off.

"two party" system. Says who? There is NO law stating that we have a "two party" system, that just happens to be what most of the major candidates choose to identify with.

I have seen PLENTY of ballots where there are candidates from the Green Party, the Independent Party, the Libertarian Party, even the Socialist Party.

And then there's the option to WRITE IN the candidate of your choice.

YOU can try to weasel out of the fact that you've been shown to be wrong, to be an idiot, and to be nothing more than a leftist tool (as well as fool).

I SHOWED you 2 cases of where various TEA party movements endorsed NON republican candidates – which was a DIRECT WIN over your statement that the TEA party ONLY supports republicans.

And what's your response, to come out with a major LAME reasoning about some stupid "two party" system that makes NO sense whatsoever, and isn't even TRUE anyway.

Talk about grasping for straws – talk about lame – talk about not being able to admit when you're wrong – man up & say that your statement wasn't true.

Everyone can see that I owned you on that... big epic FAIL to you.

Bristol Palin? I'm appaulled and humored all at the same time! I'm glad that yet another teen mom is being glorified for spreading her legs! Yippee! And somebody please explain to me how a posts about DWTS became a topic of RACE!?!?! Really?? You people are morons!!! The only RACE worth discussing is the HUMAN RACE... and how the parents in the HUMAN RACE needs to get a handle on their children! I think Sarah Palin is the BIGGEST JOKE! And her kid, Bristol, and the "baby-daddy" have made her an even bigger joke. Perhaps that Hockey-Mom should have kept Bristol to the penalty box when she was younger!

You can play mind games with yourself all you want. But, we have a two party system. When you go to vote, look at whether you are circling the D or the R. I think you will find as a "tea party" member, you should be able to see what party you are voting for.

  20. FACT_are_funny_Things_that_leftists_ignore

P.S. I decided to do some research because I wanted to see if any TEA party group has endorsed a Democrat. This would be a DIRECT contradiction to what leftist tool said when he drooled " how come they have never endorsed anyone but a republican."

So, after a GRUELING 2 minutes of research, I found an article on the Daily Caller talking about the TEA Party Express (again, one of MANY loose-knit, INDEPENDENT TEA Party groups), and how they endorsed Democrat Idaho Rep. Walt Minnick.

Oh, and in that same GRUELING 2 minute research, I also found yet ANOTHER article from Hampton Roads where the Hampton Roads TEA party group went AGAINST the Republican political machine & ended up endorsing Ben Loyola, who was NOT the Republican establishment's choice.

So, you see – I know that working for TWO WHOLE MINUTES doing something on your own without the Gov holding your hand is a BIG stretch for you leftists, but I think even you can do this.

So I just reported on 2 occasions of TWO TOTALLY INDEPENDENT & DIFFERENT TEA Party groups who did NOT endorse a Republican. In fact, 1 of the groups actually endorsed a (gasp) Democrat.

Sorry dude, for letting the facts get in the way of your hyperbole.

I'll wait patiently for your apology & retraction...

Well it looks like dancing with the stars better rethink casting Bristal as the odds are in in she is going to bring down the ratings. I don't know whos fancy idea that was to allow her to be casted as a starl it really hurts the others who have in the past worked in show buisness. I would have never put my bet that she would raise the numbers she is to contraversal. And people like me will tell others not to watch and punish your show for the bad judgemnt that you have made. The sight of a Palin makes many people sick.

I havn´t watched DWTS in few seasons because I´ve been busy with other things but I always like to see who is on the line up. I probably won´t have a chance to watch it this season but this is what I think of this seasons line up.

Brandy- She is the typical DWTS star. 90´s singer/actress. Where has she been? Probably raising a family... I really don´t know, but we´ll find out.

Jennifer Grey- Such a nice addition to the cast. I´d like to see who she is now too. I havn´t seen or heard anything about her. I bet she will to very well and will be a favorite.

Margaret Cho- So cool to see a comedian who isn´t an over weight middle aged creeper (referring to the guy from the penis show, haha). I think she will be decent and will make some laughs for everyone.

Audrina Patridge- I have no idea who that is. I have never seen the Hills. Do we know who is pared with who yet? I hope she isn´t with one of my favorite dancers. I like when my favorite stars are with my favorite dancers.

Florence Henderson- Yes!!! I love the Brady Bunch and I love her. I can´t believe she is 76. I hope she does well.

Bristol Palin- Well, I only know about her because of her mom. I think Sarah should be on the show instead. She seems to be the most discussed on this board. People have turned this into a politics thing. I don´t usually like to judge a child based on his or her parents and vice versa, every family has problems. Of course we know about her because she hasn´t technically hid from the publicity. I feel like befriending her and teaching her some of my values. I kind of feel bad for her.

Michael Bolton- Love ballads, right? Unless he is that smooth on his feet, he better not be paired with Edyta. I really want her to win. I adore her, I hope that comment I saw about her leaving isn´t true.

Mike "the situation" Ive-already-forgotten-his-last-name- Ok no clue... ohh Jersey Shore... Everything I have ever heard anyone say about this show seems ridiculous. And to think that they made or are making a version in my home town. This type of stuff drives me nuts. More people need to smarten up. I am probably the same age as this kid and I think I am the minority in how most people are these days. Why is it necessary to be like this. I hope he is kicked off first.

David Hasselhoff- Hasn´t he been in the news a lot lately for being crazy? Was he on Bay Watch? I don´t think I like him. He is a blah for me for now.

Kurt Warner- I never really know the football players but they tend to do well. Is he cute?

Kyle Massey- Who? Ohh, that kid. Well. at least his shows are not about running around drunk and stupid all the time. Probably not famous enough to go very far, but we will see. Even though everyone says they won´t watch the show because of the lineup they all want to see Bristol Palin fail, so yes she is more famous than this kid.

Rick Fox- Again, I don´t really know the basketball guys but when they dance well I enjoy watching them. If the show seems interesting enough this season I might find time to catch up on abc.com.

A young man from a liberal Democrat family, The Situation.

50/50 yet the libs are foaming at the mouth once again. Is it that every conservative in this country has 10X's the values and morals of every Northeast, left coast Democrat like the Situation?

What's with all the political rants? I thought this article was about DWTS.

Could someone please explain to me how the following people qualify as stars:

    Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino
    Bristol Palin
    Audrina Patridge

Two "reality television" monkeys and the not-even-slightly-interesting daughter of a former state governor. It's a shame that these nobodies will gain more notoriety, while the perfomances of some of the other much more worthy participants will likely be ignored. I can't watch.

I used to love Dancing with the Stars. I know of maybe two on here that interest me. This show has had it's day, along with Idol and You think you can dance.
And I think it's wrong to say Bristol is following in her mothers foot steps with the child out of Wedlock. Everyone makes decisions, everyone learns from them. Just becasue your mother is Governor, President or movie star, we are human. And hopeully we would learn from our mothers mistakes, but we will still make our own.
Do I believe BP is a STAR??? Absolutely NOT. But she does not deserve to be attacked on this comment board. She is a 19 (or so) year old kid.

Pseudo-intellectuals are so lame, they try to prop themselves up, but when you actually debate them, or they are actually faced with facts – they fall like a house of cards.

Sheppard, I won't get into an intellectual battle with you, for I was taught that to fight an unarmed opponent isn't fair.

but, I will keep pointing out the FACTS regarding Obama's radical past and connections, so that more and more real Americans can see it, because the lamestream media won't do their job because they want to prop up this empty suit.

If you answered "no" to any of these, then YOU are the ignorant ones.

I don't "cow tow" to propped up, pseudo-intellectuals who THINK they are better or smarter, because I'm willing to put up my education against ANYONE'S. At least I know enough to realize Obama's radical connections.

But for you sheep who felt he was suuuuuuch a "great speaker" and he was just soooooo smooth... well guess what, Hitler was a great speaker too, and he was able to stir the masses as well – so you all have been fooled by a charlatan, an empty suit, a Manchurian Candidate, and unfortunately, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The Hoff too, is perfect: an aging entertainer like Donny Osmond, and he actually won! Sad to see the old double standard about teenage mothers is alive and well. Doug, that was an INCREDIBLE idea – "Dancing with the Saul's" – too bad most people who voted for Obama don't know who Saul Alinsky is, or just HOW influential he is to him.

Too bad they don't know that most of the people he surrounds himself with are unabashed leftists who's goal is to change the US into a socialist nation – that's what the "hope & change" rhetoric was about.

For instance, John Holdren stated he wants to "de-develop" the US & "semi-develop" 3rd world nations to put all nations on a more even playing field. That means that you must get rid of your big screen TVs, your cars, your way of life!!

Also, Ezekial Emanual (Rahm's brother), and 1 of Obama's science advisers, stated that he advocates withholding treatment for seniors, to help bring the medical costs down, because they have already lived their lives.

And these are but just 2 of MANY radicals surrounding, advising, and conferring with Obama.

By the time they get to the final 3 or 4 when I like to watch, we usually have a gold medalist, a couple of in-shape younger celebrities, etc. Looking at this line up, I don't think we will be seeing any quality dancing....not that it seems most people on this board seem to care (much more into political bashing).

This just goes to show you that there is a huge double standard. If she was a minority she would be shunned by the Media . The double standard in this country still exists and the media should see how this might be offensive to glorify a "baby mamma". Why does she not just go to college? This move by the network says a lot about us as a society. If I were somone like Jennifer Gray who is obviously a star. I'd tell the network that I want her off. C'mon what won't the Palin family do for money! It is easier to exploit yourself than just go to college and get a real career... I'm tired really of the double standard. Hope the show is cancelled for lack of taste. Why doesn't the network just call it Dancing with the Distasteful. All real stars out of the boat quickly save your careers.

I agree, Bristol is not a star – she had an unwed teen pregnancy and is the daughter of a failed politican who sells memoirs. Now, if the failed politician (Sarah) was on the show, that would make sense, even though I'm not a fan of Sarah Palin. I think this is the end of DWTS just like it's the end of American Idol.

You obviously didn't read the reactions when the Gosselin went on the show... just as many negative comments... it's not a political reaction bud... it's a matter of taste... neither of them deserve(d) to be on that show. Now it's become a contest of how low the producers can go each year.. what a joke... my guess for next year of that average Joe that Joh McCain hauled into the limelight.. let's see if he can dance!

Dancing is better than seeing these people in court, or in rehab, but we're the 'Dumb and Dumber nation if people really like this stuff. Tractor Pulls with the stars? Dentistry with the stars? And these are all people who we would mostly like to see fade away, or at least shut up. Boring, trivial, and ridiculous. Next!!!!

I don't agree with bashing the people they have chosen this year. I enjoy the talent from the professional dancers and what they seem to be able to teach the people who really have no experience dancing. Please, stop bashing and don't watch. Is that too simple??? If Palin does know and approves, she got what she deserves (kids don't just turn out like this) and I don't want her in my politics. Dancers walk warily down the street with the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of their feet, Rythmic Drum's ready to go
Are you ready? Hey, are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the crowd runs to the sound of the beat, Yeah
    Another Show bites the dust
    Another Show bites the dust
    And another Show gone
    And another Show gone
    Another Show bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
    Another Show bites the dust

How do you think I'm gonna get along without you when you're gone?
You took me for everything that I had and kicked me out on my own
Are you happy? Are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
Out of the doorway the crowd runs to the sound of the beat (Look out)
    Another Show bites the dust
    Another Show bites the dust
    And another Show gone
    And another Show gone
    Another Show bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
    Another Show bites the dust

    HEY
    Oh, take it
    Bite the dust
    Bite the dust yeah

    Hey
    Another Show bites the dust
Another Show bites the dust, oh
Another Show bites the dust, hey, hey
Another Show bites the dust, heeeeey
    Oh, shoot out

There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man and bring him to the ground
You can beat him, you can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him when he's down
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the crowd runs, repeating the sound of the beat. Oh yeeeah

I think "Judge Judy" would be a much more appropriate venue for Bristol (and Levi).

After Tom Delay I gave up on "Dancing with the Stars". I see no reason now to come back. Fox' "So you Think you can Dance" has much much better dancing.

I truly hope none of you have a teen daughter who someday comes home and tells you she's pregnant. That would truly be quite the reality check quite a few of you all seem to need. Nobody is perfect or wonderful or above anyone else. Not the Palins (notice that I've spelled that correctly), not the Obamas (also spelled correctly), and certainly not any of us here on this thread. The first rule of media is that any publicity is good publicity. DWTS has done exactly what it set out to do with this lineup. It got people talking; albeit in the most nasty way possible. May each of you hatemongers encounter someone today who is just as nasty to you or your child as you were in your posts to someone you don't even know.

But I thought Bristol moved to her cushy condo in Anchorage to be 'independent?' She had a job, talked about going back to school (we know how important education is to the Palins since Mama never ever talks about it,) and wanted to raise her baby out of the spotlight. Lies all. The minute she kicked Ben out, and then Levi, she ran back to the compound so someone else could raise the child, just like Trig. Now she's running off to Hollywood to play 12 hours a day with some professional dancer. Goodness, could she be any more obvious in her dislike of mothering, not to mention school?
And Lin, Obama's girls will never do reality TV. They, like Chelsea, will get their educations, including good college degrees, stay out of the limelight, get jobs, and get married when they are ready. All out of the media glare. It is possible to be the child of a famous person and grow up normally, with class.
Had Bristol stayed in Anchorage, not arranging stupid magazine interviews and photo shoots, she would not be talked about. But the Palins thrive on the media...good or bad. If Sarah had class, she would have said, "No, thanks," to McCain. Any caring woman with a newborn and a pregnant young daughter would not have jumped at the chance to throw her family to the wolves. Not Sarah. She absolutely could not wait to get out of Alaska, no matter what it cost her family. Look what she has reaped. I hope she's proud of herself.

Good post! And it is very true that you never hear anything about education in the Palin household. It was refreshing to read about Chelsea, who has prepared herself for the future, all out of the spotlight. She has a master's degree and, I believe, will be going for a Ph.D.
I was hoping that Bristol would go to college or do something to better herself, but it looks as if she is headed in the wrong direction, just like her mother.

Love the line up. A chance to see if there is any intelligent life in the Palin geneology. But seriously, the term 'celebrity' on Dancing With the Stars, is really tongue in cheek. What do you want to see: an obese housewife from central New Jersey? The fact is that almost always every contender is someone with a fading movie career, a public relations rehabilitation, an aging athlete, or a wannabe with a bit of skin in the game. I find it fascinating – perhaps the best of the reality shows, and extraordinarily difficult event for the amateurs. You gotta give it to them for sheer guts.

While I agree with many of you about the lack of credentials of some of the cast members, I find it interesting that many of you fail to see that this cast is one of the best ever for them. Politics aside, by placing Bristol in this cast, the producers have generated more pre-show publicity than any of the previous seasons. Morbid curiosity, the desire to see her fail, or actual respect for her will provide, at least for the short term, many more viewers than it won't. Since this show, as all of them, are based on ratings to drive advertising dollars, they had to do something outrageous to outdo last season's numbers. For them it is a win-win. So I'd be highly surprised if Palin, or "TheSituation" for that matter, are gone in the first couple of weeks.

If you truly desire to see someone disappear from the spotlight, stop talking about them. If the network media outlets can't make money on person or story, it won't be around long. Enough said.

The show had 50,000 other similar girls in the same situation in America to chose from. If getting pregnant is all it takes to be a star America today, the country is in the toilet worse than I thought. She is doing nothing more than fronting the family name for political gain. The fact that Bristol Palin is doing this show is proof that, in politics, any exposure is good exposure. The conventional wisdom is that such publicity-seeking by Bristol is bad for her mother. The conventional wisdom must be wrong, because, if this would truly hurt her mother, her mother and the Republican party would not allow this. Hasselhoff is exactly the type they need to be casting, washed-up but still kind of relevant. Jennifer Grey? Seriously, another dancer? I'll forgive Henderson's dance experience as she's almost as old as Betty White and her experience is really more Lawrence Welk than Bob Fossi. Fox and Warner? The athletes are so much fun. Bolton, meh. Cho, meh. Reality nobodies-meh, OH DEAR GOD, NO! I wish they'd cast Levi. The young man needs the money.

Every year DWS seems to put on an aged star, a pop icon, a sport star, and someone who shouldn't be on at all. Bristol Palin fits the later. She is a kid who's values and sensibility are questionable and who's mom probably felt it would be a great "opportunity" to further herself and make a few bucks. Jeeze lets add some class for once. Hopefully, her less significant other won't be allowed to profit as well by showing up too.

You know, I've always been a fan of the show. I love the dancing, Tom's excellent hosting skills, and Bruno's wild and crazy metaphors. Gotta say though, I'm not exactly thrilled with the cast this year. I mean, Bristol Palin?! What's this chick famous for? Oh yeah, she got knocked up and had a kid. If people like this are the "stars" people are referring to, I can't imagine what'll come next. That is, if the show lasts that long...

When I turned on the TV and saw Kate Gosselin, I stopped watching. This year I just won't bother to tune in AT ALL. I would like to see Jennifer Grey and Florence Henderson, but I simply cannot stomach Palin and Hasselhoff. They are reason enough to not watch. Losers, has-beens, wanna-bes, and publicity hounds. First- due to the time commitment and low pay off this show provides, no "A-Listers" will ever be on DWTS. Embrace it people.
Second- Every season you hear "oh loooord they are scraping the bottom of the barrel an this is the WORST CAST EVER and I'm never watching again" yet its still one of the highest rated shows on TV
Third- Last year when Kate was on it tromping around like a large African water animal, every single message board I read said they would NEVER watch until she was gone yet week after week the ratings were higher and higher while this train wreck stayed.
Finally- I watch this show for the pro's. Watching them make dancers out of even second rate stars is a great way to spend my Mondays

What on earth are the producers thinking??? they really are on a downward spiral with this selection. I feel sorry for the genuinely talented dancing professionals who have had the series hijacked. The political overtone that introduces Bristol (poor pawn in the chess game aka Glenn Beck's 'I have a Scheme....') to the show is a complete turn-off. The BBC have obviously have been given their choices, 'take it, or leave it'. There are clearly lots more important things I need to be watching, but this was one show that used to be really enjoyable...........sad.

Reality TV was developed for and is sustained by what many of you call trailer trash...if the shoe fits...I'm just saying...

Hey Ron, why not make fun of her for multiple use of exclamation points? !!!!!! But at least she used an apostrophe correctly. Also, to deconstruct, a HOE is a garden tool. Drop the "E" to get the word you REALLY want. And finally, the saying would be "That you CAN take the out of trailer park....." (The second part would be "But you CAN'T take the trailer park out of the ." Nice to see, Ron, that hate (and ignorant grammar) is not just a conservative / republican trait.

Why is Palin even on "Dancing with the stars"? She is not a TV celebrity or reality star she is just the daughter of the quitter queen who stepped down for $$$ in her book deal she couldn't take as governor. The Palin's prove over and over again to be money grubbers whose "white trash" values are being promoted around the country.
Anyone think Bristol will quit half way through her contract with "Dancing"? After all she has followed her mothers history of pregnancy before marriage.

Ron – an apostrophe "S" - that is the your big "not bright" argument? Tell you what – go through all the "liberal" postings, and all the "Conservative" postings. Tell me which one has zero grammar errors or spelling errors. I am guessing both sides have equal number of people that can't type, spell, or do not punctuate correctly. Or, keep your blinders on. Your choice.

And to everyone complaining about Bristol not being a star. Well, for better or worse, she is a star. Who made her a star? The media-looking to create emotion (either patriotism, hatred, or general interest). You know who else made her a star? Each of you that are complaining about her. You click on every one of the stories about her. You read, you complain, you post, you complain about her around the water cooler. You ask "who cares?" It shows that you actually do in order to have an emotional reaction. The opposite of "love," or even "like" is not hate, but is apathy. If you did not care, you would have never clicked on the article or posted to begin with. Chances are, you will even watch DWTS just to root against her. She is a celebrity, you helped create her. Now, deal with it like an adult.

It is NOT just liberals who think the Palins are money grubbing trailer trash. I have voted Republician in every election I have ever voted in and I think they are everything that is wrong with my party. They do not represent my family values. I despise the Clintons, but Chelsa has handled herself with more grace and class than I though possible from someone in that family. She went to college, worked hard, got a job, got married and has stayed out of papers like the Enquirer, unlike Bristol. To me it seems like in the Palin family children are convienent photo ops, not something you spend time raising. Oh and Bristol Palin opened herself up for criticisim the minute she choose to put herself in the public eye. Everyone in the entertainment industry gets criticised, if she did not want that she should have gone to college, been a mother to her child, and stayed out of the "reality" spotlight. I have to agree she does not belong on this show. She has done nothing to earn her way into the category of "star" (of course I also don't think most of the rality show people belong in this category either, but I guess at least they have been on TV). Being given something for nothing is not what I believe this country should be about.

Is she a "star?" No. Neither was Kate. Every year they include someone to annoy the daylights out of the public because an annoyed public is a watching public, like it or not. They can only hope that Bristol is as bad a dancer as Kate (is that even possible?) so that she also contributes that "can't turn away from the train wreck" that brought in the ratings last year.

"Palins fans" needs an apostrophe. Either Palin's fans if talking about one Palin, or Palins' fans if you're talking about more than one. Good one with your "aren't exactly the brightest." Good zing.

Believe it or not, ABC doesn't expect you to like all of the celebrities they sign on. They don't even expect you to like one of the dozen. They just expect you to click on any link with DWTS (as you've already done) and tune in for the two shows a week (which I bet you all will).
