Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Fantasia opens up on overdoseTalk about an unbelievable admission - one time “American Idol” champ Fantasia Barrino has opened up about her shocking drug overdose just two weeks ago. In a new VH1 “Behind The Music” airing today, Barrino confesses that she purposefully swallowed a combination of aspirin and sleeping pills to end her life. She tells VH1, “I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills."
You would think it would be hard not to sympathize with Barrino's disturbing story, but believe it or not, a lot of people are taking to online message boards to criticize her. Some feel it was irresponsible of the single mother to knowingly leave her 9 year-old daughter, Zion, motherless. Others support Barrino, realizing that she’s overcome unimaginable life events and sympathize with her emotional fragility. But, it is rare for a celebrity to speak out about the details of a suicide attempt at all, and the fact that Barrino is speaking out the day her album is released has also raised some eyebrows about the timing of her confession. So in our "Showbiz" flashpoint today we’re asking: Is she making a big mistake by putting herself out there like this? Another huge story we’ll be talking about on the show tonight is Tiger Woods’ big divorce! After all the stories about the night Woods crashed his car into a tree, the multiple alleged mistresses and the hundreds of millions of dollars at stake, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren have finalized their divorce. Some reports estimate Nordegren may have walked away with $100 million, but considering Woods could be worth, perhaps, ten times that amount of money – we want to know if you think she deserved more? I felt so bad when I read about her attempt to end her life.....she has a full demanding life,maybe it all just got to her & she felt alone & overwhelmed. Hope all will be well with her.Be Hopeful,never give up !!!
FANTASIA WILL BE ALRIGHT. SHE HAS A STRONG PRAYING MOTHER AND MANY FANS AS WELL AS MYSELF THAT ARE PRAYING AS WELL. WE ALL MUST REMEBER THAT "WE ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD". THE BEST PART ABOUT IT IS THAT GOD IS A GOD OF A SECOND CHANCE. NO ONE IS PERFECT BUT HIM (GOD). WE LOVE YOU FANTASIA. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP.
I truly hope she gets encouragement from her loved ones like the stuff you guys are writing here. It's a shame how the spotlight can really get to people... hopefully she recovers.
However, even if she checked this blog, she probably can't read your encouragements. Yeah, I know, that was messed up but I had to say it.

I have been a fan of Fantasia since American Idol. I can't judge her. I just want her to understand that the same GOD she sings about, he is her help,strength and love. Tasia got to know that, God is REAL. I want her to take time for herself. She can not carry the load on her own. He will carry it for her. She was blessed with the talent and she is using it. That's why even when she wanted to give up, he kept her here. People, please stop judging this lady and start praying her threw this.
Some people need to get a life.They act like they're GOD and perfect,maybe somebody should look back in there OWN mirrors and see if they 're so perfect.Leave her alone ,who are you to judge. Tasia PRAY and surround yourself with TRUE friends and family and GOD WILL SEE YOU THREW THIS .
LIFE IS OVERRATED!!!
We are not here to judge however when I see her singing any type of gospel song, I want her to know that the same God that she know during the singing of her song, is the same God that can take her through ANY situation. Remember Fantasia the same God will see you through the storms of life don't you dare give up and leave your daughter without a mother. Additionally, you are not the first nor will you be the last!
