Kardashians have no trouble 'Keeping Up' ratingsWe’ve spent the past three years peeking into the sometimes-TMI lives of those krazy Kardashians, but the ratings for last night’s premiere prove that America is far from done with this reality TV family. Nearly 4.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the opener of season five, making the episode the series’ highest-rated as well as the show's most-watched season premiere ever. It also became E!’s second most-watched telecast ever, which is only bested by last season’s "Kardashian" finale, which pulled in 4.8 million viewers.
At the end of season four, viewers were treated to the, um, graphic birth of Kourtney's son, Mason Disick, but at the start of this season, things were a little more tame: Kim moved into her five-bedroom, reportedly more-than-$4 million home and got into a cupcake fight with her mother. But despite those thrilling events, this show's not quite yet keeping up with the cast of the "Jersey Shore": MTV's hit series had 5.3 million viewers tune in to watch its second season premiere, making it the best-rated season premiere for the network in more than seven years. The show's staggeringly high ratings have continued throughout the season. Somewhere out there, you know a reality TV exec is dreaming up ways to bring these two money-making shows together...

I feel sorry for all of you, its a tv show made to be funny. No one makes you watch it. But to be so mean is really sad. That is what wrong with the world all we is love not hate. And by the way these women all have business and clothing lines and the work very hard, just becuase they are on tv poeple are mean. This show is about family loud messy family. they fight they hate they love they make up. WHY because they love each other. That is all I have to say so know you all can start to be mean to me for have a veiw. Thank you God bless you Share the love
I think these girls are very pretty and the entire family are just flat out hilarious. They're just entertaining to watch. They all seem really close too. They remind me of a latino family.
Can we change the name of there show to:
"WHITE TRASH WITH MONEY"
or
"THANKS DADDY FOR MAKING RICH AND FAMOUS"

Why do you people think 4.5 viewers means they are popular than 10 millions that watches America Got Talent on NBC. Now that what i call a bomb show with the three boring ladies as reality stars. Just because the rating is what u think doesn't means America accepts this type of behavior representing it citizens. It's time to vote the reality drama off television for children to see and our reason also.

No doubt the public is far dumber for even watching this train wreck but we are lambs being lead to slaughter. I don't begrudge the girls thats for sure. They deserve kudo's for doing the show and just goes to show the spirit of capitalism at it's best. I just don't see what the point of the show is and just how much is "Contrived" drama for T.V...
Jersey Shore is even worse. What a bunch if no talent wastoids just trying to break through with stupiod antics.
I know this show is stupid and I'm crazy for watching but it's funny as crap. Those girls give blondes a whole new meaning. They are so stupid that's it's funny. Kourtney needs to have her head examined for giving that jerk Scott the time of day. My husband thinks I should have my head examined for watching.
Wow! Did I really just read 'overweight tramps'?? These women are FAR from overweight, and negative comments like that are what drive so many young people to have low self esteem and poor self images. Even if you are not a fan of the show, why take a jab like that? How absurd to make fun of the show when you, yourself, are obviously SHALLOW!!
I like all three sisters. They're hot and seem super cool! Just because some people were born "lucky & privileged" doesn't mean that they deserve to be hated for everything they do and have.
I wish i could spend one week with them, so that i could experience their daily live.

I am not opposed or for the show but they are people and someone's daughter. I have a daughter and I would hate to hear people talking about her in school let alone on a national level. You are a very judgemental group of folks and apparently very angry at the success of others. Throwing in racial slurs and demeaning American women based on 3 girls is ridiculous and a frivolous waste of your time yet very hurtful to the Kardashian family. Sends a very poor message not only of you the author of the post but of the american people in general. Remember there are options like, not reading the magazine or not clicking on the article. Save your hate and put it towards a good cause...like Katrina clean up or the gulf oil spill.

This is a discussion board for crying out loud, do you really think that the Kardashians are really going to read this and take offense by what is being said about them? They know that EVERYBODY talks about them, that's part of being a CELEBRITY, people will talk, people will hate, people will be negative and tear you apart, that's part of the territory of being famous, I'm tired of people like you acting as if this is something unusual or out of the norm. If you are so good and wholesome why won't you give to charity instead of coming on here complaining about how mean people are on a discussion board? Why not tell the Kardashians to do something useful, because with all that money they have they sure aren't using it for something good. At the end of the day, people will have their opinions, whether you like it or not, it will have no bearing on the Kardashians or affect them at all, so get off your high horse and help out at a homeless shelter.
Charles: The Kardasians are famous due to thier father ( Robert ) who helped get O.J off back in 1994/1995.
Question: Just why would anyone want to marry Kim now? Age 30, a career in Porm and she is destined for the single life with no children while Kourtney is destined for the hospital due to an altercation with Scott and Khole maybe the best level headed person on the show but her life will be in shambles when Lamars career is over or the infidelities come to light.... Lets not even talk about Kendall... Her path is being written but she needs to leave this Reality spotlight or she will fall victum...
I wonder how Bruce Jenner would feel if a 29 year old man was frolicking with his youngest daughter like Kim was with Justin Beiber? I am sure Kris, who has no morals, would love it, but I think Bruce just might draw the line at his child and an older man in photos together. But they seem to think it is OK for Kim to do it with a young man. The entire family has absolutely no sense and can be sold to the highest bidder. Thank Mama for that. She set the ball in motion to make her family famous(or infamous?) and she has done that, but WHY????

Can someone explain to me why these people are famous in the first place? In other words, what were they known for before their voyeu- I mean "reality" show started airing?
If I am going to watch this circus, it sure would be nice to HEAR some of it, but there is so much cussing and BEEPING I get very little of it, except if this is what rich does to you, and this is who you become, I would rather live in a tent, in the desert .This is not entertainment, it's sick.

Please, the Kardashians. All they ever seem to do is take their clothes off, get drunk, curse, and fight. I tried to watch but just did not see the appeal. I am shocked that a Mother(Kris) would want her family portrayed this way, but Kris does promote it. None of them have any talent. Kourtney is the only smart one. Did Khloe even go to high school? If so, did she even graduate? She is absolutely the dumbest blonde walking & she isn't even blonde. Go figure. Poor Kim. To be known only for having a big butt is not really much of an accomplishment. Keep Khloe off the Fashion Police, please. I like to watch it, but if she is on then I just can't, because she definitely has NO FASHION SENSE at all, just too tight clothes and most of the time not very flattering or attractive ones either. But, hey, Kris must be a very proud mama to have her children in the spotlight for doing nothing but boozing, partying, and fighting.

Well writers have had over 50 years in Hollywood to try and write some good shows on TV but the majority of them have been cr*p. So I do not feel sorry for writers at all.
I don't wish to know who these people are, but unless you never watch TV, go online, or shop at a store that sells tabloids, there is no way to avoid them. I have an idea – let's pick a random day and make it a 'Kardashian Free' day. No news, no blogs, etc about them. And throw in the Jersey Shore cast too while we're at it.
I never make comments here, but I can't control myself this time: this country admires and pick as role models individuals who have no talent and nothing to offer other than cheap and ridiculous entertainment. Why don't we have a genius showing us his/her creativity or inventions or provocative thoughts about a subject on science on a reality show frame? it is not the TV producers fault: it is OUR FAULT for watching these shows.

Janet, Despite how I may feel about the show, I can't believe you think these women are overweight! Kim is approximately 115 to 125lbs! Are you some sicko anorexic or something that believe women shouldn't have any curves or actual flesh on their bones? That is what is wrong with the self-esteem level of young women in America these days thinking they all should be rail thin and skeleton-looking....which is gross!
No, these women aren't overweight and it is pretty appalling that somebody would say so, but i always find it funny that you have to knock down people who are thin and skinny while you are complaining about how wrong it is for somebody to make fun of somebody with meat on their bones. Another problem with society is that it seems like this whole "curvy" thing also affects those girls who are naturally skinny who are called "bony" or "not womanly enough" because they don't have a body like kim kardashian. I'm all for supporting bigger sized women but why put down skinnier women for the sake of giving props to plus sized women? It is just contradictory and frustrating to support one body type and to diss another. That's the real reason why girls are so worried about their bodies, nothing is ever good enough for anybody, big girls are "too curvy" and skinny girls "aren't curvy enough." Nobody wins.
There is no possible way that Kim K is 115 to 125lbs. My daughter weighs nearly 120 and she is 5-6 and runway model thin. My wife is 5-7 and 135 lbs and slightly thinner than Kim K. When we married she was 121 pounds and looked too thin. If Kim K is 115 lbs then she must be 4 feet tall.

I don't understand the appeal of this show or these people. Yes they are beautiful but so are millions of other people in this world, what makes them so special? I only tried to watch their show for one minute and it was unbelievably boring to me, sorry I just don't get it.

Well we have this thing called Reality tv because apparently no one likes true fiction anymore. It's not as if we are lacking talented writers, producers are looking at ratings and high dollar signs based on the average joes' interest in watching other people ruin their lives.
