'Sarah Palin's Alaska' gets premiere dateBetween her daughter Bristol’s on-again, off-again engagement to Levi Johnston and sharing her political view with the masses, it seems Sarah Palin and her family are never far from a press camera's lens. But if you think you already see plenty of Palin, get ready for November 14, when “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will premiere on TLC, according to THR. TLC President Eileen O’Neill said that at the Television Critics Association press tour that the show is going “extremely well.” She added that “it’s become clear that it takes a special individual to thrive in Alaska.” It seems Kate Gosselin also fits into that “special” category, as she will reportedly appear on the show with all 8 of her kids for a camping session. The program will also display Palin’s salmon-fishing and glacier-hiking skills.

Yeah, how's that science-y, learn-y thing workin' out for ya, America? TLC has now officially become The Loser Channel. Of course, it's not really their fault - they, and the Science Channel, both started with good aims, but the American public simply can't abide learning and science. 'S okay; we can sit our our fat rears eating pork rinds and drinking Big Gulps, watching Sarah on the tube and watching the developing world pass us by in science and math. 'S all good, right?
Every Alaskan I talk to wishes Sarah would get out of Alaska and stop using the state as her profiteering bi-line. She is a poorly educated narrow minded quitter. I have stopped watching any channel that gives her a platform.
What's next–the Housewives of Wasilla? Starring all the Palin Family? Kate Gosselin had every right to get upset with Palin. $arah tried to pick her brains about how to get money for being on the talk shows, to get on other TV shows, etc. and Kate realized that she was being used. The only reason that Palin had her Dad and her brother there was to give them some exposure so they could also get on the gravy train. Like Sarah's Dad went and recommended that the people of Idaho should vote for the candidate that he recommended–why would he know more about who to vote for than the people who actually live in Idaho? (Those Idaho voters showed him a thing or two!) Kate is no dummy–so her family gets a bucket for going to the bathroom and Palin and her staff get actual toilets! Kate's family gets a ice chest with snackables and Palin and staff get hot food–hotdogs and hamburgers. SARAH Palin thinks she is a DIVA and celebrity and treated Kate's family like sh*it. Not someone who has earned by respect.
Maybe someone will come along and shoot her from a helipcopter like the moose that she is.

Yes I live in Wasilla, Alaska. Yes, about 1/4 mile from Sarahs old High School. Yes, Sarah was my Mayor. And my Governor. And, she did pretty well in both of those positions. However, since she started pandering to the extreme right wing of the Republican Party, she's lost her appeal. Way to sell yourself out, Sarah. I won't be watching, TYVM. And thanks for making everyone in the country think Wasilla is full of extreme right wing wackos. Let me assure you, this is not the case.

I've watched and enjoyed some of TLC's programming over the past several TV seasons. But if TLC airs this Palin-centered show and provides her a stage for her dim-witted, lowbrow political rhetoric, I will boycott the network indefinitely and will encourage everyone I know to do the same. Really, the whole thing is simply a ploy to get around campaign finance laws... If they say they "hired" her, they can massively overpay her and voila! suddenly she has the money in her account to "fund her own campaign".

I started my own business 10 years ago. As a result, I enjoy knowing that I've earned over $3,200,000 during 2009. Not my company revenue, my salary. I don't think about it often because I'm not obsessed with it and I rarely talk about it because it's no ones business. My performance everyday dictates if my company will continue to be a success.

I'm a regular viewer of many TLC programs, but I will have to change that now that I know Sarah Palin will be a part of their line-up. Most reality programing is really annoying. I do not watch Kate Plus 8. I do like "I didn't know I was Pregnant" and a couple of their other shows. But adding Sarah Palin to their line-up has gone to far for me. I will not try to watch other programs on TLC if I have to see hundred a commercials for "Sarah Palin's Alaska" during every single commercial break. TLC is one of those annoying channels that advertises their own programs to the point of nausea. I usually can press the mute button until I get back to the show I'm watching but even pressing the mute button on Sarah Palin won't cut it. Good riddance TLC!
I totally agree with you Lynn. I don't care for reality shows, many of them are scripted, so it really isn't 'real'. But putting Palin in the line up........just makes it all seem even worse.

We had a dog that suffered from heat stroke when I was small. Watching that dog suffer was both mesmerizing and sad. This woman reminds me of that dog.

I'm not sure I'd want her for my President, but I think she has drive, determination and a good sense of humor which is in seriously short supply in politics these days. It'll be a very interesting show and a winner for TLC, I'm sure.

Alaska is for losers. Ask anyone in the military who gets "demoted" there. Sure it has some qualities but being up there is like being in another world. It's also the biggest welfare state in this country by far where one can grab a rifle and shoot a dumb moose while collecting the oil money check once you get back home. And it's freaking COLD.
I worked for a company based out of Fairbanks, had an ex-wife who lived up there, have relatives who live there and have visited a couple of times. I'd rather be in Seattle, a city with strong ties to Alaska, with plenty of outdoor activities, separation somewhat from the rest of the world, no god awful heatwaves and rain instead of snow (or ice fog as they call it in Fairbanks).

I was probably a bit harsh. Anchorage is a nice town and I have a couple of friends who live there that love it. They've been there for years and don't desire to leave. Juneau is wet but a buddy of mine makes a killing off the tour ships that arrive every summer from Seattle. I still have no idea how folks up in the Fairbanks area do it. The whole state is cold but damn Fairbanks is friigid in winter. 30-40 below, and those ain't record temps, that is normal in January. Kind of dark too..

I read on another site that if you go to wowurl.com/11bma you will see an accounting of what went on with what was supposed to be a two-day camping trip. They arrived at the camp site and Kate threw a fit because she was going to have to sleep in a tent. All he$$ broke loose when Kate was presented with a bucket with a toilet seat for a cover. Kate screamed: "What the hell am I supposed to do with this?" She further said that the camp was dirty and her kids couldn't stay there in the "dirt". So, they set Kate up in alternative accommodations with her kids in a cabin that had a bathroom and electric. When dinner time rolled around, Kate opened the cooler for her and it consisted of Lunchables. She further declared that she couldn't feed her kids that "crap". It appears that Palin and her group were barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers. The "camp out" lasted only one night rather than two.
So, I can't see where Eileen gets the idea that Kate is one of these special resilient people. Kate is a diva biotch whose 15 minutes has long since passed.
