'Oregon Trail,' the movie?Don't get those hopes up too high - an "Oregon Trail" adaptation isn't actually happening. But if it were, it just may look something like this spoof trailer, crafted by the same creative minds that gave the world the “Tiger Woods Voicemail Slow Jam.” For those of you who (sadly) have never experienced the computer game, which first debuted in the ‘70s and made a comeback in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, “Oregon Trail” was intended to be an educational game for elementary-aged kids.
But, as the trailer points out, on the “Oregon Trail” you likely won’t learn a thing, other than how to effectively sell off clothing for oxen and bullets. Amidst the other flicks adapted from childhood nostalgia, “Oregon Trail” clearly has the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. There’s adventure (stampeding buffalo!); disease (dysentery!); and family drama (because seriously, who wants to be the carpenter?). Alas, it still may be a while before a studio exec picks up on this, but in the meantime, Apple does indeed have an app for "Oregon Trail." |

CAULK AND FORD!!!!!
Video games/computer games should NEVER be made into a movie, no matter how much fun or nostalgic it is.
How many time's can Suzy break her arm?
I loved playing the game when I was in elementary after school while we, the bus riders, waited to be dismissed.-Walkers / Parent pickup-ers got dismissed 1hr-30mins before the bus riders were dismissed. MUCH FUN!
As long as everyone in the movie dies of Clorea, I'm happy....

Yo mama died trying to ford the river.
This poster has died from dysentery.
Talk about nostalgia...I remember playing this game way back in junior highschool on some old relic computers. I was always the banker...for the money of course. Reading the tombstones of those who played just before me was also a highlight of the game.
Hahahaha OMG!! I can't recall the number of times we got to play that, making sure to put our worst enemies as a person in our family, only to deliberately let them die of cholera or something.
Or was that just me....
Haha I always used to do that too!
I was born in '96 and that was the one of the first computer games I ever played. Heck, I still play it!
F-U. I am a Carpenter!
