Megan Fox donating salary from Eminem music video

Megan Fox made the most of her cameo in Eminem's controversial new video "Love the Way You Lie": The actress donated her appearance fee to a shelter for abused women.

Yahoo! Finance reports that 24-year-old Fox, who stars opposite "Lost" actor Dominic Monaghan as one half of a physically abusive couple, has given her salary to the Sojourn House, which provides battered women and their kids with a place to rebuild their self-esteem and their lives.

In the powerful video, which also features Rihanna, Fox and Monaghan, 33, are shown alternately attacking each other and passionately making out.

Both Eminem, 37, and Rihanna, 22, have had personal experiences with domestic violence, and as Rihanna told Access Hollywood, "The lyrics were so deep, so beautiful and intense. It's something that I understood, something I connected with."

For his part, Eminem felt it was an issue that needed to be addressed. "Trying to make this tough subject work visually is a challenge," he admitted. "It was great to have Rihanna, Megan and Dominic on board for this. They really brought it and made this video super-powerful."

As far as I am concerned,I will not donate my money to battered women because it seems they tolerate abuse and even defend it.I will send my money to better causes like homeless people...these are people who need help not these abuse addicts.

This is a horrible video. The message is clear – you can beat up your wife as long as you make-up.It sends a wrong message to married men.Any man who watches this video will be emboldened to continue with wife bashing.

Come on people & CNN Rihanna said it herself on ENews that she knew it was going to be a hit. She had no intention of doing anything for DV women and men. With such backlash Megan then gave her salary to DV victims Org. If nothing was said then she would have kept the money just like Rihanna and Eminem did. Rihanna is still trying to use that situation last year for record sales/fame. She has no idea what a real DV person is and what they go through because I am one. Sorry people she just had a fight one time. It's not like she has been beaten all the the time. It's ashame how she can stoop so low. Who makes a video/song with someone that beats his wife. Then at the end of the video he said that if she tries to leave he'g going to tie her to the bed and burn the house down. Kim his wife is the real victim.

I don't understand how someone could do something as selfless as donating profits to a charity for abused women and their children and get called such horrible things. The only reason i can think of is jealousy. None of you know her but are so quick to judge. Maybe instead of judging her for the wrong reason you should go out and try to do some volunteering or donate some time or money to a helping cause.

Good for her (no sarcasm intended). I don't like or dislike the girl, but it is a very nice gesture. Let's just all say 'thank you' and move on.

And how much of your paycheck gets doanted to charitable causes? i dont think its the amount that matters its the fact that she did something selfless to help people who really need the money and support.

"While it's commendable and very respectable that she donated the money from the video, why not proceed some of the millions she makes from movies and her other ventures as well? She and other celebrities alike should learn from the recent billionaire's charity movement about giving half their fortune away, and they should do it on a smaller scale since they have lesser money. Her 'giveaway' is nothing in comparison to what many others are doing. Why is this 'news' all over the place? This is what society has come to.""

why dont you give away your paycheck? she didn't have to give away anything to begin with

Congratulations, Megan, the cheap publicity ploy worked - people are beginning to like you again. Some not so bright ones anyway. But then again, I guess that kind of is your base, isn't it. Still, good job!

I understand what the critics are saying about this video. It plays into the drama that young people like to surround their lives with...........why not show domestic violence as it REALLY is? Where are HER bruises and black eyes? Where are the cops dragging HIM out of the house in handcuffs? How 'bout showing rihanna w/ bruises like she had after chris brown hit her? This video lends a certain eroticism to violence. Oh, we hit and punch and scratch each other but then we end up hugging and kissing. It's just no realistic. (And, what the heck....what did megan fox do to her face? I didn't even know that was her until I read it on CNN.)

Well – she isn't Julia Roberts here. She has had like...three big movies and she is married to an ex 90210 cast member. She probably isn't rolling in it as much as we think.

What was her appearance fee, 10 bucks?

    Dumb ex-Transformer hump.

Joe....ur a moron! Her fee is easily in the thousands. She is a really nice, and caring person that you obviously have never met. Why don't you try being positive once in a while instead of cutting people down...especially when they're doing something selfless and to help others. Sorry ur life sucks, but honestly...fix yourself!

While Joe may be crass and immature in his response, I have to ask, Anon, do YOU know Fox? How do you know she's a "nice and caring person"? How do you know this wasn't some publicity ploy to improve her seriously tarnished image? Look, they wrote an article about it and she's getting publicity. Compared to what she made for the Transformer movies, she probably got a pittance for this video. Grow up, little girl.

It glorifies nothing, Jeannie. You clearly misunderstand the message of the video.

You must have been living under a rock. Why would people who experienced domestic violence in their life want to glorify it. You probably the type that would stay in your house and gossip on the phone about your neighbors domestic abuse instead of doing anything to help.

close your eyes, Jeannie. I heard that real world problems disappear. I do it all time time, "There is no such thing as AIDS", "there is no such thing as poverty", "there is no such thing as domestic violence"

The best thing all of us can do is keep any signs of these things hidden from the public.
