Lea Michele: 'Glee' cast is my family

Lea Michele can belt out a show tune with the best of them and can deliver a line just as well, but one thing that isn’t an act is her friendship with her “Glee” co-stars.

“I don’t have family in L.A.” the 24-year-old actress told Glamour magazine for their October issue. “They are my family, honestly...I love my cast.”

Michele added that the cast mate who surprised her the most is Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes Jones on the Fox series.

Striving for success on 'Mad Men'

Editor’s Note: This post contains spoilers for the Sunday, August 29 episode of AMC’s "Mad Men."

Sunday was a big night for the gang at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.  Don won an award, Peggy got empowered, Ms. Blankenship got a new wig and Ken Cosgrove returned to the agency.

The driving theme of the night focused on the lengths people are willing to go in order to succeed.  While some work hard and persevere, others are driven by their sense of entitlement.  As a testament to the latter, we opened with Jane’s Lilliputian cousin Danny.  Danny came to his interview with Don and Peggy armed with a book full of hackneyed ad slogans, other people’s work and Roger Sterling’s name.  Although he failed miserably in his attempt to impress, he was inevitably hired because of his connection to Roger.  Verdict: Danny sucks.

Conversely, through a series of flashbacks, we saw that Don came to be employed at Sterling Cooper [no Draper Pryce here, this was the former incarnation of the agency] through sheer persistence and determination.  Don met Roger at his former employer – Heller’s – where Roger stopped in to buy a “getting to know you” fur for Joan, with whom he’d begun an affair.  A salesman who also handled the shop’s advertising, Don promoted himself and his abilities in a manner that was straightforward without being ham-handed.  Take a lesson from old Don Draper, kids.  Persistence is everything.  However, you might want to skip the three martini breakfasts.

Bye bye, Bethenny

Kelly Bensimon and Jill Zarin are going to be short one frenemy when “Real Housewives of New York” begins filming again this fall.

Bethenny Frankel recently announced that she won’t be returning for the Bravo show’s fourth season.

“Last season was scary and painful,” she told Us. “It took all of the joy out of it.”

But Frankel has definitely been keeping busy. Shortly after she gave birth to her daughter Bryn, the reality star’s own show, “Bethenny Getting Married?” debuted on Bravo.

Will you still watch “Real Housewives of New York” without Frankel?

Toronto International Film Festival will be bedbug free

They’ve infested movie theaters in New York and New Jersey, but, contrary to a Toronto moviegoer’s tweet, bedbugs won't be making an appearance on the red carpet at the upcoming film fest.

After one woman claimed she’d been bitten by bedbugs at the Scotiabank Theatre Toronto - one of the main venues of the Toronto International Film Festival, which kicks off on September 9 - Cineplex Entertainment didn’t waste any time before resolving the (non)-issue.

“After a thorough investigation overnight, which involved a specially trained sniffing dog and a secondary visual inspection, Abell [Pest Control Inc.,] has confirmed that there were no bedbugs located within the Scotiabank theatre,” a media statement issued by Cineplex Entertainment states.
