Eminem comes to the defense of Taylor Swift

He’s had choice words for everyone from Britney Spears to Christina Aguilera to Mariah Carey over the years, but now Eminem is coming to the defense of Taylor Swift.

In the August issue of Spin magazine, the outspoken rapper reflects upon the 20-year-old country queen’s infamous moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in which Kanye West, 33, interrupted her Best Female Video acceptance speech, saying that Beyonce deserved her award.

“He shouldn’t have done that, man. I mean, she’s a little girl,” Em, 37, told Spin.

Em also admitted that, out of jealousy, he almost included a song on his new “Recovery” album that dissed the careers of both West and Lil Wayne. But, he noted, “It would have been career suicide.”

The father of a 14-year-old daughter, Em said he’s become more sensitive with time – and that’s the very reason he avoids pop culture as well as the Internet these days.

"Here's why I don't know how to work a computer: If I learn how, I'm going to be on that [expletive] all day looking at comments about me,” he explained, “and it's going to drive me crazy."

Eminem is very generous andd has grown so much in life. I love him more now then when he first came out, but regardless have always loved him. He's real and you don't get too many real people nowadays!

Not sure why it would be career suicide for Em to diss West and Lil'Wayne... After all, EM is still the number 1 selling rap artist of all time...

He is a mean spirited, ugly person. Who cares what he has to say? I hope he does get a computer, so he can read THIS.

20 yrs old is not a little girl. That's a grown woman. Eminem has insulted Pop Divas Mariah Carey, Britney Spears etc... I can care less if he has finally grown up. If that is the case he should allow Kanye to grow also and not judge so much.

Yeah, but Taylor hasn't done anything to make herself look like a fool. Spears and Carey....just look at them.

This is the Question that interviewers ask rappers. What the hell. It happened more than a year ago. And people still can't get over it? Eminem has done some pretty crazy things as an entertainer as well. So please.

I couldn't agree more. That situation is old news. Swift got so much publicity from it, and people are now determined to make her even more successful just to prove a point. It was wrong what he did, but she was embarrassed by it, not destroyed, and even benefitted from it. Let's move on.

It's nice to hear he has something nice to say about a woman in general, especially a pop icon. It's also nice to hear that he openly disagrees with Kanye West's actions, but decided against trying to make a buck off it, even though he attributes that to wanting to stay in business. And yeah, it is about time he grew up, but at least it has happened. Let's just hope we don't have to hear any more about his fantasies of killing Kim.

Most comments on these forums are garbage, anyway (including some of mine, I admit that). He's not missing much.
