Shyamalan responds to question about what happened to his career

It’s likely that a few people have wondered in what direction M. Night Shyamalan’s career is headed, but one journalist in Mexico, at a press conference for “The Last Airbender,” actually asked the director himself.

“You had a very strong start to your career with the ‘Sixth Sense,’"the reporter started. “However, the audience has lost faith in your work….’Airbender’ feels like you want to capture audiences again by becoming more commercial, am I right?”

We’ll assume from Shyamalan’s response – which began with, “If I thought like you, I’d kill myself.... Your impression of my career isn’t my impression of my career, it’s something you read on Google” – the answer to that question is a “no.”

Lindsay's mugshot gives slight sense of deja vu

By the time this day is over, you will likely have seen and heard more about Lindsay Lohan than you ever thought humanly possible.

Let us prove it to you by tossing one other image into the ring: that of Ms. Lohan's booking photo from earlier today, next to a prior booking photo from 2007.

It doesn't appear that much has changed since the first shot, on the right, was taken. At the time, she'd been booked for DUI and possession of cocaine, transporting a narcotic into a custody facility and driving on a suspended license, according to People.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Lohanorama, the sequel

Early this morning, the "Showbiz Tonight" staff skipped the conference room and went straight to the newsroom where Executive Producer, Dave Levine, called the shots for our special 11 a.m. coverage of Lindsay Lohan's sentencing.

Shortly before air, our in-house satellite feeds showed “Showbiz Tonight” correspondent, Kareen Wynter, patiently waiting right outside the Beverly Hills courthouse in what she called a “crush” of media, all there to witness Lohan turning herself in.

In the beginning, there were a whole lot of questions: Why did Lohan’s new attorney, Robert Shapiro, quit at the eleventh hour? Would Lohan fight her jail sentence? And would Lohan show up on time?

Aubrey O'Day gets a(nother) reality show

Bristol Palin may be declining to join the reality TV ranks, but Aubrey O’Day – who came to stardom on MTV’s “Making the Band” – is now headlining a reality program of her own, THR reports.

“The Aubrey O’Day Project" will chronicle O’Day’s attempts to make a comeback in the music industry, and will air on Oxygen, home to other reality programs like "Bad Girls Club."

"Young women have watched the ups and downs of Aubrey through the years, and they continue to cheer her on,” said Oxygen exec Amy Introcaso-Davis. "We're excited to deliver her story as she battles the issues that resonate with our audience, from self-doubt and body image to an intense desire for success and redemption.”

Since O’Day left Danity Kane, the band formed as a result of “Making the Band,” she’s worked in musicals on Broadway as well as in Las Vegas. An airdate for "The Aubrey O'Day Project" has yet to be determined.

Steve Carell: 'The Office' isn't going anywhere

Many have queried whether or not NBC’s “The Office” should soldier on without Steve Carell’s character Michael Scott, but the 47-year-old “Despicable Me” star thinks it'll do just fine in his absence.

“The show's going to be great,” Carell told Parade.com. “The show has been very consistent and I'm just one part of this ensemble. The show is so strong and has such good writers, it will continue to be great. So the show's not going anywhere."

The actor will clock out of the critically acclaimed series at the end of its seventh season next spring, and he doesn’t appear to anticipate much remorse about dropping his alter-ego.

Dina and Lindsay's matching courthouse couture

Don’t you just hate it when someone shows up to court on the day you are scheduled to go to jail wearing almost an identical outfit?

Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina committed a bit of a fashion felony Tuesday when the pair arrived at the courthouse dressed in similar dark, skinny pants (jeans for Lindsay, slacks for Dina), light colored tops, black jackets and dark shades.

With their matching dyed blond locks the mother-daughter duo were almost indistinguishable from behind – which made us start envisioning a mash up of two of Linds' hits, “Parent Trap” and “Freaky Friday.” We are unsure as to whether the copy cat look was planned or who’s been dipping in whose closet for their latest style selections.

Alas, no one bothered to ask either Lindsay or her mother who they were wearing.
