SNL's Seth Meyers goes all in at ESPYsMore so than who actually won what at the ESPY Awards – hooray for the U.S. men's national soccer team getting best sports moment! – everyone has been tossing around SNL star Seth Meyers’ one-liners as the host of the ceremony. Having Kim Kardashian’s ex, Reggie Bush, in the audience didn’t stop Meyers from going in on the E! reality star and her family. “This is where sports and entertainment come together,” Meyers quipped. “It’s like a Kardashian sister’s bedroom.” All Bush could do, as the cameras panned for reaction, was smile.
And although it feels like there should be nothing left to say about LeBron James’ decision to go with the Miami Heat – the guy already had an entire hour – Meyers couldn’t resist poking a little fun. "LeBron James announced his decision to go to the Miami Heat live on ESPN in a one-hour special called “The Decision,” and we were all witnesses to a super-boring hour of television," Meyers said, despite the fact that he was hosting an event bearing ESPN branding. "Did it really need to be an hour? Look, somebody time me. Ready? 'Miami.' What was that, a second?" “But,” Meyers went on, James isn’t the only one raking in lucrative deals. Although Tiger Woods was beat out of what would've been his 23rd ESPY win by Phil Mickelson for best male golfer, “We all know which free agent is making the most money this summer,” Meyers said. “Elin Nordegren." |

We enjoyed the show so much including the artist named Janell Monae who we'd never heard of nor heard perform prior to this event. The touching stories of the athletes and the coach who had struggles in their personal lives added a bit of the sacred to an otherwise glitzy sports entertainment show.
The singer is a Grammy Nominated artist named Janell Monae and has opened for No Doubt among other artists. She was also hand-picked by Prince to perform a tribute honoring Prince at the recent BET awards last month. Maybe the performance wasn't the best but the young lady obviously has talent.
I can't say this enough: Whoever hired that singer (for the ESPYs) should be fired. She was awful, sounded awful, danced awful, looked awful. The Trifecta...what an accomplishment. I felt sorry for the guests that had to sit there and listen to it, but then realized how much money was in the room and it kind of felt good that I had a MUTE button and DVR fast-forward!
Seth myers killed by the way. He was Uber-Great (german reference). And the Ed Thomas Story was amazing. I felt that to the bone. RIP sir...
Couldnt agree more, Seth was awesopme and the singer was a travesty. What was up with that hair??
Seth was awesome!!! his jokes were on point and had me in stiches. Good job
I thought Seth was great! The Lebron stuff was funny
