Lady Gaga beats Obama for Facebook recordAs if we already didn't know Lady Gaga is the biggest thing in the universe right now. On Friday the shock singer broke 10 million followers on Facebook making her the first living person to have so many friends on the social networking site. Gaga had been running neck and neck with President Barack Obama for the honor, but soon surpassed the Commander-in-Chief. A video of the performer on her Facebook page features her thanking her "little monsters" for "all of your love and all of your support and for sticking by me through the fame and the fame monster." "Become my friend on Facebook," Gaga says on the video after blowing a kiss. "I'll never forget you." According the USA Today there are only five others, none of whom are living people, who have more Facebook fans than Lady Gaga, including the late Michael Jackson, Texas Hold 'em Poke, the Family Guy TV show, the game Mafia Wars and the Facebook site itself. All tapped out on 'SYTYCD'We all saw the outcome of Thursday night's "So You Think You Can Dance" results show coming a mile away. After all, both Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman said the night before that they had made a mistake in keeping tap dancer Melinda on the show another week. Nigel Lythgoe didn't pretend to make it suspenseful either when he made the announcement. It's true that she "danced to the beat of her own drummer," as he said, and she's certainly very talented in her own style of dance. Her a capella solo was actually one of the best ones she had done on the show. One thing I didn't understand was Adam's comment that she needed to show some vulnerability to stay on the show. How exactly does one do that as a tap dancer? British actor Andrew Garfield cast as Spider-manOh, what a tangled web he’ll weave! British actor Andrew Garfield has landed the coveted role of Peter Parker – aka Spider-Man – in the upcoming 3-D reinvention of the $2.5 billion movie franchise. The relatively unknown 26-year-old replaces original “Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire and beat out a host of equally little-known actors, including Jamie Bell of “Billy Elliot” fame, “Kick-Ass” star Aaron Johnson,” and Frank Dillane, who played a young Tom Riddle in last year’s “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” “Community” star Donald Glover hoped to audition for the role, launching a Twitter campaign and being backed by a “Donald Glover for Spider-Man” Facebook fan page. (Alas, he is no Betty White.) Kris Allen: 'I'm pasty'Kris Allen fans hoping to purchase posters of the "American Idol" champ posing shirtless are going to be sorely disappointed. The singer is still smarting from topless poolside photographs of him that were recently splashed all over the Internet. "I was pretty upset. It was like, 'Seriously?' " a mortified Allen told MTV News of the pictures, which were snapped in April as he relaxed before a Paradise Island gig in the Bahamas. "I’m pasty," says Allen. "It was rough!" Thankfully, he wasn’t alone – Allen's younger brother Daniel and band mate Cale Mills also appeared in the skin pics. Lindsay Lohan: I was punched by a waitress!Lindsay Lohan says she received a little something extra for her 24th birthday – a punch! Lohan tweeted early Friday morning that "A waitress just hit me – punched me for no reason.” US Weekly reports that the troubled actress was hanging out, SCRAM bracelet and all, at the nightclub Voyeur in Los Angeles when a waitress allegedly socked Lohan. The magazine quotes a source as claiming the waitress had “a history” with former Paris Hilton beau Doug Reinhardt who Lohan has been spotted with around town. Probably not the gift Lohan was expecting. Talk about a “Freaky Friday!” Jake Pavelka not stripping down for PlaygirlSure, he was always shirtless on “The Bachelor.” And yes, he boogied in his tighty-whities while competing on “Dancing With the Stars.” But that’s about as much skin as you’re ever going to see from Jake Pavelka. Despite being offered a nude pictorial in Playgirl, the 32-year-old reality hunk will not be stripping down for the magazine. “Jake is not doing Playgirl - never considered it, never will," his rep told Us Weekly. |
