'Pretty Little Liars': 'It won't be that easy...'If last night’s episode of “Pretty Little Liars” taught me anything, it’s that blocking phone calls, text messages and e-mails from unknown numbers is a bad idea. Moral of the story – if someone really wants to get in touch with you, they’ll find a way, making the episode the most intense one to date. Everything started with Hanna’s mother talking to yet another cop. (Don’t worry, she kept it PG this time.) Hanna’s stunt from last week’s episode, when she stole and crashed Sean’s car, hasn't gone away just yet. The four girls meet at the bench in town where they’re planning to make a memorial for Alison. Spencer, true to form, is the most composed of the bunch, proposing each of the girls block unknown numbers and e-mail addresses so they never have to hear from "A" again. But it's only the fourth episode and, to my delight, the show was recently picked up for 12 more – there’s no way we’ve seen the last of "A."
Sure enough, a flyer with Alison’s face on it that reads “ding dong the [expletive] is dead” blows over to the girls, but not before they see Mr. Fitz riding his bicycle down the street. One of the girls puts it best when she says, “There are teachers that you don’t want to see on a bike, and there are teachers that you do want to see on a bike,” causing Aria to blush (and with good reason). The next day at school, Aria walks into Fitz’s classroom to tell him her friends think he has nice legs, at which point he invites her over for dinner. Inappropriate. Spencer’s history teacher tells her she did a wonderful job on her paper – the one she “borrowed” from her sister – and that he’s entering it in an essay content where she has the opportunity to win some “academic bling,” as one of the girls put it. Meanwhile, Emily - still confused about her sexual orientation - removes the scarf Maya gave her that morning before walking into lab. And wouldn’t you know – Toby just transferred into her class and they’re going to be lab partners. I found this particular scene to be very “Twilight”-esque. Like when Edward and Bella uncomfortably sit beside one another in class. Though I don’t think Toby is a vampire – we’ll save that for The CW. When Emily opens her text book, she sees the pictures of her and Maya kissing in the photo booth and immediately closes the book. She shows Maya the incriminating pictures later that day when she visits her at work. Maya’s first response: “Great, you found them.” There is something fishy about this girl. While we're talking about awkward situations, Aria found herself trapped in one at Fitz's apartment, and ends up skipping out before dinner when Fitz tries to give her advice about her father’s infidelity. This, of course, leads to an incredibly awkward “To Kill a Mockingbird” lesson at school where Fitz calls Atticus Finch a hypocrite while staring directly at Aria. Hanna has her own version of dinner drama when her dad drops in town and picks her up for dinner, proceeding to make a terrible joke about not letting her drive his new car (too soon dad, way too soon). At Hanna’s next daddy-daughter dinner date, her dad drops the bomb: I’m engaged, and, by the way, my fiancée has an extremely annoying, self-important daughter that you have to get along with. Then things really start rolling. Spencer, who is home alone, hears a crash downstairs. Rather than calling the police or hiding under her bed, she grabs a knife from the kitchen and looks for the perp, which ends up being a very drunk Wren holding a flower pot. But the two are not alone. A camera films the entire scene from the window. Anyone else think Wren is no good? Toby, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about. He shares a genuine moment with Emily outside of her house, telling her not to worry about what people think of her. I want to believe he’s the good guy, but I haven’t made up my mind yet. What do you think? Aria and Fitz make up while eating leftovers on the floor before she runs out once again, ready to tell her mother about her dad’s infidelity. Unfortunately, she’s too late - “A” got there first. Her mother hands her a letter describing every detail of the affair, including the detail about Aria hiding it from her mother. Then, while Hanna waits in the car for Spencer (who was giving Wren a goodnight smooch outside his motel room), she got a “Joy Ride”-like message via the radio: "This song goes out to Hanna, from her best friend A." As Spencer strolls back to the car, the song “I Don’t Need You Anymore” plays on the radio. When the girls return to Spencer’s house, they see that the broken flower pot has been swept up and placed neatly on the table – the red roses in the shape of an “A.” Knowing someone had been - or still was - in the house, the girls race upstairs to Spencer’s bedroom to see if Alison’s bracelet is still tucked safely away in her drawer. It is. But when the girls glance at the corner of the room… Gasp! This calls for S.O.S text messages. Within one commercial break, Aria and Emily arrive at Spencer’s house. The four girls stare at Spencer’s mirror, clearly terrified to read, “It won’t be that easy [expletive],” written on the glass in lipstick. Perhaps my favorite part of last night’s episode was when one of the girls made the connection that the lipstick on the mirror was Alison’s color. How perceptive. What did you think of last night’s episode? And where has Jenna been lately? |

People, I didnt read anything and I know exactly what happened!
Well, Mona is -A then after she dies Alison takes over the role. Alison never really dies. It was her twin sister Courtney who died by Alison murdering her because when Alison was taken away to a medical home Courtney pretended to be Alison. So when Alison came back home she got furious that Courtney had dumped her popular friends for the 4 losers, Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily.
B.T.W Mona knows all the secrets because when Maya moved into Alison's home, all of Alison's stuff was outside including her diary. So Mona took it and read it all!
Also, the director wants us to think it;s Toby or Jenna but it isnt, its just someone from the outside. Also Mona wants to be -A because before all of that she was a geek and Alison always made fun of her.
B.T.W Alison murdered Courtney by pushing her into a hole in the back of her family's house. The body that was found was really Courtney's not Alison's. Sorry for spoiling. Oh, and also Jenna IS BLIND!!!!!!!!!!
allison's lipstick is called "Jungle Red"

What is allisons lipstick called?? And is it real?
If you remember when Jenna sits at the lunch table with all the girls she says Allison came to visit her in the hospital after the accident. I think Allison feeling guilty for causing the explosion told Jenna all the girls secrets & somehow Jenna is impersonating -A. Maybe she is not really blind? Maybe she is blackmailing her brother Tobey into helping her? Not really sure what will happen next but I will be watching.
I do not intend to read the book until this is over. But what I do know of the book is the author is from the "main line" area of PA which is King of Prussia & Philly suburbs – and she based her characters & town on that area. This would explain the fashions, cars, houses, etc... BIG money area!
Lastly, I really like the theme song even if it is a bit creepy, lol.
If anyone has read the series this show is just giving a visual perspective to the novels. I hope they stay true to the novels because once you find out who A is it'll be intense.
Sorry to bust a bubble, but yeah that was Allison in the coffin. At least it is if they are going by the books, because if they are she really is dead, yet no one knows how she really died or who "A" is.
I am sooooooooooooooo in love with this show it is sooo good.
i thank that Toby knows that she is not blind she had to tell him.
OMG......... don't you just love this show? I do. I am so much older then the demographics for this show, but was hooked after the first episode. I absolutely can't wait each week and try not to watch and wait for the following week so I can watch 2 at once and can't do it. I am so hooked on this show that I won't know what to do when it goes on hiatus.
I love hearing everyones thoughts. Let's just say, the body that was found isn't exactly Alison, and Jenna nor Maya is A.
Really? Cause I was pretty sure that at least in the books the bones (not body) that were found were hers. I do admit that I only read the first one though and then just had my sister tell me the rest so I may have misunderstood.
I'm sure there are more "A" s to come http://bit.ly/WatchPLLnow
I have yet to watch this show but I have read reviews and am very interested in how this show is. It seems pretty good. But at the same time it seems a bit similar to Gossip Girl. I hope it isn't because I lost interest in Gossip Girl a while ago. I think I'm gonna go home and watch the first 3. 3 is all they are up too, right?
Love the theme song, and love the show so far!
Chels, I actually think that someone found a diary or something where Alison went to dish all the dirt that she knew and now that information is being used against them all.
Okay well that makes more sense, it is all so confusing but addicting to me.
AJ, I agree with your theory too. I thought about that earlier but just didn't write it. I think Jenna can see and that no one in her family knows that she can. Either way, we get 12 more episodes of the show. Not sure if they can make this concept last too long.. it may get boring.
but if jenna is not blind then why does she hate them in the first place and this big ruse? She does not appear to be scarred anywhere and seems to fit in well herself, even though she is blind she can put on a freakin lipstick that must take some skills! Its so sad I am waaay too old for this show but I agree its kind of addicting.
Okay but how is "A" ALWAYS at the right place at the right time..this doesnt make sense at all. And if the cops found Allison's body then she has to be dead because they wouldn't just find a random body and say it's hers. So she must be dead but who on earth could be alive and watching everyone of these girls so closey? I do not think Jenna is bink at all. I dont suspect Wren at all either..and also since Jenna told the girls that Allison came to see her in the hospital, why didnt they ask what was talked about? Im sure they had a secret meeting and Allison told Jenna all the secret and information on the girls so that she could help destroy them..but did Allison know she was going to die? AH SO CONFUSING!
it is confusing but i than you right.
they didn't find alison's body.it was someone else's.
Jenna is a blind girl who is blind because the girls (after being persuaded by Allison) threw a stink bomb into a building she was in that in turn caught on fire. At least this is what the directors would like us to believe. Toby is Jenna's step brother who took the fall for the building catching on fire. Toby took the fall after being forced and sworn to secrecy by Allison. Apparently Allison has some dirt on Toby and this is why he took the fall. I believe Allison is a liar and evil hoe who is coniving and that is why Toby took the blame. Allison was found dead in her backyard and there was a CLOSED casket at her funeral.. "A" is a stalker who is playing as Allison. "A" knows all the girl's secrets and scandals and is trying to expose them. "A" could be Allison, Mya or Jenna. OR maybe "A" is someone still unkown on the series!!
i also than that jenna is not blind. i than that she is "A".
i also thank that jenna is not blind. i than that she is "A".
I am torn between two ideas... could it be the new chick that moved into Alison's house that is causing all the problems or is "Jenna" really Alison pretending to be someone she isn't. I am not entirely convinced that Alison is dead because they never showed the body. Although the plot is a little ridiculous, the suspense of the show has been well played. Plus all the girls dress amazingly. I give the show a B. Oh, and does the theme song give anyone else the creeps?
I agree...the theme song gives me the creeps too, which I guess is on purpose. I don't think Jenna is Alison in disguise. I suspect that Jenna wasn't blinded in the fire after all and that she can actually see. I think she is the one pretending to be 'A' although I don't know how 'A' seems to ALWAYS be in the right place at the right time when the four girls aren't always together. I like the mystery...keeps me coming back.
omgg thank you soo much! i didnt understand this eisode so much but now i do =] but i have one question (since i didnt see episodes 1 and 2) who is Toby-he bothers me and who is Jenna?? Ohh and were not sure if Alison is dead yet right?? I am very lost on this whole alison issue and I didnt get what she wrote on the mirror......
Go to the official website and read the recaps of the other episodes. It explains who everyone is and what has happened so far. I missed the first two episodes and the recaps answered all my questions.
