Barbara Eden pens memoirShe bared her belly on “I Dream of Jeannie” and now 75-year-old Barbara Eden is baring her soul in a new memoir. Crown publishing announced on Tuesday that the blonde TV icon will conjure up “Jeannie Out of the Bottle,” a 2011 tell-all in which she’ll share her on- and off-screen encounters with legends past and present, including Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Paul Newman, and Clint Eastwood. Fans of the ‘60s series “I Dream of Jeannie” will also get their wish as the star - born Barbara Jean Morehead - will dish about her experience portraying a 2,000-year-old genie who shacks up with a Florida astronaut, played by Larry Hagman. “Like Jeannie, I've been bottled up long enough - it's time for me to pop the cork and talk about the amazing people I've been fortunate enough to meet along the way, and the highs and lows of my everyday living," Eden said in a statement. |

Because of her offensive remarks, Barbara Eden is no longer a favorite; she is a disgrace. During an interview by Joy Behar. Ms. Eden referred to Desi Arnaz. She and host Joy Behar spoke of his attraction for Ms. Eden. And when Joy called Desi a "hound dog" Barbara Eden said, "well you know, that South American culture."
What is next for Barbara Eden to say? Will she say, "well you know those Black people" or "well, you know those Jews" when the topic is about someone of that race or faith?
I am not even South American but I was offended at this remark. I was surprised that the host Joy Behar didn't speak up against this or even correct Barbara Eden and tell her that Desi Arnaz was not South American either. He was Cuban.

I wanted to be just like Jeannie when I was a little girl. Loved the show! This book will be a great read, I'm sure.
Barbara appeared in an episode of the Andy Griffith Show prior to I Dream of Jeannie as a manicurist in Floyd's Barbershop. She was already smokin' hot.
Was a huge fan (still am, just hardly ever get to see any reruns) of "I Dream Of Jeannie" when I started watching reruns in the 80s. Barbara Eden was probably one of the hottest women around (ever) in her prime. I'd love to see her on tv (Considering how much leeway she'd have with her costume nowadays) now but as the 20 something she was then.
But she still looks very good for being 75.
This is great news! Barbara Eden is a talented actress and I am eager to read about stories that have make her America's Sweetheart. Big fan of "I Dream of Jeanie!"
Count me among the fans! II grew up watching Jeannie reruns in the early 70s as well. My friends and I would dressup and play Jeannie and Samantha (Bewitched) back when kids had to make their own entertainment and games "back in the day.." Looking forward to the book!
My husband said he had a major crush on her when he was younger. I remember wanting to be her during Halloween when I was younger. I loved that show. We are both 47.Best wishes to Barbara Eden she looks great at 75 !!!!
I heard from people I know that knew her & her husband that she is as sweet as pie! I so look forward to reading her book. Love you Jeanie!!! :o)
Jeannie is out of the bottle...
I watched the "I Dream of Jeanie" reruns as a little boy in the early 70's. She was HOT then, and still is in my opinion. Hard to believe she is 75 years old. I look forward to reading her book.
Who?
I think you have to be over 18 to post here.
I was in love with Genie, and still am. WOW!!! I couldn't believe they showed her belly!! Talk about a boy's hormones going wild!!!!!!!
I was a kid growing up watching the show – and her belly was (and probably still is) HOT!!! She's and awesome person and actress. Thanks 'Genie'!!!
