Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Is it really over for Sandra and Jesse?Well that was quick: Sandra Bullock and Jesse James finalized their divorce. We here at “Showbiz Tonight” have all been reporting on messy Hollywood divorces for so long that we couldn’t believe how quietly and amicably Sandra and Jesse did this. (If only Charlie Sheen and Alec Baldwin could’ve done it in less than six months…) But Senior Producer Marc Balinsky was definitely skeptical this morning that we've come to the end of Sandra and Jesse. “I guarantee they will get back together,” he said. “This divorce is going through the motions until the dust settles.”
Some of us began to think Marc had a point because there are definitely a lot of clues from what they’ve said and done in the past few months that could lead to reconciliation for Sandra and Jesse. So do you think it could happen? You can join the debate by voting in our “Showbiz” poll. The “Showbiz Tonight” staffers were a bit surprised today when we heard that Oprah Winfrey reclaimed her title as the most powerful celebrity on Forbes 2010 Celebrity 100 list, but perhaps more surprising were the names that landed behind Oprah in the top five! Did Lady Gaga out power Tiger Woods? What the heck is Tiger Woods doing on the list anyway? We’ll reveal the biggest shockers from the Celebrity 100 today! One person who clearly didn’t make the list is disgraced former Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, but that doesn’t stop him from loving Oprah Winfrey. The morning meeting took an interesting turn when his name was brought up by Executive Producer David Levine, who shared that secretly recorded conversations of Blago actually revealed he was thinking of appointing Oprah to the U.S. Senate. “She’s a kingmaker,” Blago said. “She made Obama we know she’s a democrat…” The audio tapes prove that Blago actually fought for Oprah when some of his staffers thought it was a bad idea! Some of the “Showbiz Tonight” staffers jokingly remarked that if people thought Oprah could run for President, then why not the U.S. Senate? What do you think? Was Blago on to something? Someone else who is up for a seat of national significance is Bret Michaels. The former Poison front man revealed that he is in talks to become the new judge on “American Idol”! He told Parade.com, “We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple weeks and we're going to sit down and talk.” But we hear that Howard Stern might still be considering the job - is there an “Idol” smackdown on the horizon?
