The "Showbiz Tonight" team was at it again this morning in our morning meeting. So many explosive new entertainment stories today, and so little time! Here are some of the hot new topics:
Lindsay Lohan is reportedly planning to pose nude *with* her alcohol monitoring anklet on in order to hock her new line of purses. Really Lindsay? What’s up with this latest bout of celebrities getting down and dirty just to get a little attention? "Showbiz Tonight" will have a lineup of top experts to break it down for us.
And if you haven’t already seen Miley’s eyebrow-raising outfit at a Canadian awards show, suffice it to say that it's pretty outrageous. She wore a black netted outfit reminiscent of Cher circa the 1986 Oscars, but the thing is, Miley is only 17-years-old.
Even more disturbing, some people seem to be cashing in on her behavior. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has posted another racy photo on his website of Cyrus mid-step in a dance move with her skimpy costume revealing much more than she intended.
Is Perez totally out of line for posting this? Is he breaking the law by posting exploitative photos of a minor? "Showbiz Tonight" producer Jenny D’Attoma was totally disgusted by Perez saying this morning, “He needs to be charged with something.” What do you think?
It’s also raising some big questions today about the 17-year-old's path to stardom: Is she following in the footsteps of Britney Spears? As "Showbiz Tonight" producer Sandra Lee pointed out this morning, “Britney went from the Mickey Mouse club to international sex symbol the minute she exposed her midriff.” It was a no-holds-barred, throwdown meeting with a room divided over the big burning question today: Does Miley Cyrus have to sex up her image to be successful?
But the teen sensation isn’t the only star behaving badly today. Jerry Seinfeld came out swinging against Lady Gaga because of her foul play at a Mets game. Which makes the other big question of the day, "is Lady Gaga tarnishing a stellar brand with her latest bouts of acting out at baseball games?"
Also on the lineup for tonight: Helen Mirren - also known as 65 and fab - posed topless for New York Magazine. As "Showbiz Tonight" Sr. Broadcast Producer Aileen Martinez Carper put it, “have you ever seen her in a bathing suit? She looks better than most 20-year-olds.”
Plus, new revelations today about Gary Coleman’s reported secret pre-death restraining order against his ex-wife. Many of us on the "Showbiz Tonight" team found the report very disturbing.
