It seems hip-hop superstar Drake is definitely “Over” Rihanna.
The 23-year-old rapper, who dated the “Rock Star” singer shortly after her split from troubled ex Chris Brown, told the New York Times he now believes the Barbadian beauty was more attracted to his music than his machismo.
“I was a pawn,” Drake said of Rihanna, 22, who began romancing him shortly after she contacted him to write a song on her new album. When the song didn’t get released, the relationship hit a sour note and Rihanna let him go.
“She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” the Toronto native and former “Degrassi: The Next Generation” star explained. “I was like, 'Wow, this feels terrible.' ”
But don’t sing the blues for him just yet. His friend, basketball star LeBron James, hopes to set him up with Halle Berry’s cousin, and Drake and Berry have reportedly been exchanging text messages to arrange the intros.
