Eminem latest victim of album leakEminem just released the video for the first single from his “Recovery” album on Sunday, but by Monday all 16 tracks from the record leaked online. It wasn’t supposed to debut in stores until June 22. The same thing happened with Drake’s “Thank Me Later." Although it feels like singles from Drake’s highly anticipated LP have been slowly leaking across the Internet forever (no pun intended), the album has been available for Web listeners in its entirety for about a week now. Even though you’ve probably already made copies of it to hand out to your friends for no charge, Drake isn’t bothered by it. He tweeted last Wednesday, “I gave away free music for years, so we're good over here....Just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY!” Have you listened to either yet? And since it's already available for free, will you still show your support and buy them?

I think eminem is the only artist whom I would actually buy their cd to show support even though I already have it for free. Been listening to it for the past 5 days nonstop, Its AWESOME!!! Already got the deluxe version preordered on itunes.

I haven't the slightest reservation of downloading the CD first and listening to every friggin' one of the tracks to make sure it's worth my money. I'll even burn myself a copy and drop it in my car and let it bang until the release date.
Lil Waynes Rebirth was a waste of my time and I deleted it after listening to it once through. Never bothered to buy it either as it didn't even come close to beating my brains out in my car WITH the system cranked all the way up. I threw the CDR out the window going down the road in favor of the greatest trapstar alive YOUNG JEEZY. I bought the trap or die 2 album directly without hesitation. Well written and well performed. Worth double what it sells for.
I honestly don't care if the artist happens to hate that I managed to get my hands on it before everyone else.
It should be everyones default right to listen to the whoooole thing before they buy it.
And to everyone boohooing about "oh em hates it when his music leaks", please... go cry elsewhere. No one cares that you are waiting and that you hate people who demand and create alternatives to the upper one percent sticking it straight up your backside. Why don't you go ahead and bend over a little further like a good little sheep tool.
Em I downloaded it and I can't wait to give you my hard earned cash on the 21st, best album of the year hands down. One question is it worth going out for the disc is the packaging gonna be sweet or should I save a few bux and get the iTunes dl?

as much as ive been waiting for this album to hit the shelf (asked for it for fathers day but guess its gonna be a late fathers day gift lol) i still will not bootleg some of the greatest music from the greatest WHITE rapper known to man. 1up on the track "not afraid" cant wait for fathers day so i will have a legal copy.

actually he reached out to a number of different producers for recovery eg just blaze,dj khalil. boi-1da and he stopped dying his hair blonde because it reminded him of his addiction

I was nervous about this album becuz Encore was awful, and Relapse had some bright spots but was clearly not his best work. I downloaded it, and I honestly think this his best album EVER. BTW, I am buying the cd becuz it's an instant classic and a must have.

I download songs I like, but when it comes to artists that I truly respect; I really show support through buying their cds.
@JWPINU you're right they make the most money in concerts, endorsements etc., but the thing is, no one will invest on their tours if they're album sales are not doing well. Remember, a music artist's value is always measured on his record sales (commercial success) more than being a quality artist, say, a Grammy winner.
If they're a Grammy winner but doesn't sell records they're more likely to become forgettable and just another Grammy awardee.
I am deployed ritgh now so I havent been able to download the bootmleg but I will definatly have my sis buy the cd and send it to mme as soon as it is released! I love Em, I listen to Relapse every day when I work out!
Ive not listened to Em's songs online because im too much of a fan to not by the cd and support him and i know once ive listened to it online it wouldnt be as exciting as buying the cd for the first time and listening to his best album yet!...
Ya, I am too. But when I read "The Way I Am" I remember him talking about how much he he hates having his music leaked. I just think that whoever did it should be ashamed.

i heard about it leaking a few days and told myself i'd wait for it to release before i listen to it... i was too big a fan to wait so i did download it illegaly but i sure will support the artist and purchase Em's album... Ive actually purchased all of his albums, even the "Eh relapse album" lol

I downloaded the album the moment it leaked online. (I kept an eye out for the bootleg the moment the relaese date was announce because I knew it was only a matter of time.) I only listened to the collab songs though because those were the only songs I was iffy about. I've already pre-ordered the album so I'll listen to the rest the day the album drops which is pretty hard when you do have the album already downloaded and people keep saying "Man, X song is the best." "Y was powerful." "He really thought Z." Ahhhh! It's like deciding to watch a highly antipated blockbuster movie a month after its relaese date.

I listened to Em's CD because I am a HUGE fan and couldn't wait, but I will 100% be at the store buying it on the morning of the 22nd.

Yep – same here. I will make sure to buy it – the day it comes out. Artists need to add some benifit to album purchases. Like DVD's, tickets, prizes, extra songs, something to keep listeners buying CDs. They also need to anticipate leaks. Like pre record music videos ahead of time and release them before the album if songs leak. SOMETHING !!! IDK?
