Tina Fey will take home Mark Twain PrizeWhether she’s searching for her true love - astronaut Mike Dexter - on “30 Rock,” or impersonating Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live,” Tina Fey always knows how to make us laugh. That’s why Fey, who recently starred in “Date Night” with Steve Carell, will be presented with the most prestigious award a funny person could ask for: The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The award has previously been given to influential humorists like Bill Cosby, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin and George Carlin.
In addition to being one of three women to ever receive the award (Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg are the other two), Fey, who recently turned 40, will be the youngest Mark Twain Prize honoree in its history. The ceremony will be televised in November when the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Fey with her well-deserved award. |

Tinay Fey really looks a lot like Sarah Palin;:;
i guess Tina Fey is pretty too aside from being a good comedian,'.
I see Katie isn't anxious to have a second child...
I have to agree with Vic on this one – Lucille Ball was WAYYYY ahead of her time. A true comic genius but stiffed on the Mark Twain Award? Come ONNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! Tina Fey, though funny, is still way behind Lucy.
Credit goes to her writers as well. I don't really see Tina breaking new ground in the comic arena....anyone else?
victor you are right even tho I like Tina is true Carroll Burnet is still alive and is true she is HILARIOUS
I'm very happy for her she deserves it she is so funny I love her,congratulations girl good for you
Ok, I'll admit she's very funny, but as funnny as all the people mentioned in the article? No way!!!
Has the Kennedy Center run out of comedians to give the award to?
How do you rationalize awarding her and not awarding Lucille Ball or Carol Burnet?
Good for her, she deserves it.
